About this listen

Have you ever thought you’d adopt a child(ren), but after finding out it costs thousands of dollars, kicked that idea to the curb?

Most people believe that all children in foster care return to their biological families.

Many do not know that 50 percent of children in foster care need an adoptive family and that adopting children through foster care costs zero to $2,500.

One hundred twenty thousand US children who are ready to be adopted are hoping you’ll listen to this book.

“We are excited about this book that shines a light on the incredible opportunity to adopt children who are waiting and wishing for their forever family! Marcy helps to simplify what can be a complex process and helps readers overcome their fears and doubts and on behalf of the children who need us most.” (Rita Soronen, president and CEO, Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption)

“Families who feel led to grow their family through adoption can feel very overwhelmed with all the information available. In this book, Marcy guides the reader through simple steps to take and she gives honest yet calming, emotional insights on this complex process.” (Emily Nienhuis, director, One Heart Family Ministries)

Easy guide for adoption and a great story!

The author reminds me of Glennon Doyle and this book is like a supplemental how-to guide to introduce you to the world of adoption. This book is a quick read and definitely helps process all of the unknowns. If you're looking for a jumpstart to adopt, listen to this book! I also loved that the kids were referred to as big brother and little sister; I also appreciated hearing it through their family's experience. Thank you for writing this book and I'm glad a friend recommended it!

Not as heartfelt as I hoped

The book is very superficial. It gives examples of situations without giving the actual situations (the bones without the heart). Like “we once had a time where we experienced “x.” Without giving what “x” actually was. I was hoping for something with emotion as foster care and adoption is meant to be and inevitably is an emotional experience. The book is lacking in that regard and is really just a 1 2 3 step book.
