Acerca de esta escucha

From James Dashner, the author of the New York Times best-selling Maze Runner series, comes an all-new, edge-of-your seat adventure.

Eye of Minds is the first book in The Mortality Doctrine, a series set in a world of hyperadvanced technology, cyberterrorists, and gaming beyond your wildest dreams...and your worst nightmares.

Michael is a gamer. And like most gamers, he almost spends more time on the VirtNet than in the actual world. The VirtNet offers total mind and body immersion, and it's addictive. Thanks to technology, anyone with enough money can experience fantasy worlds, risk their life without the chance of death, or just hang around with Virt-friends. And the more hacking skills you have, the more fun. Why bother following the rules when most of them are dumb, anyway?

But some rules were made for a reason. Some technology is too dangerous to fool with. And recent reports claim that one gamer is going beyond what any gamer has done before: he's holding players hostage inside the VirtNet. The effects are horrific - the hostages have all been declared brain-dead. Yet the gamer's motives are a mystery.

The government knows that to catch a hacker, you need a hacker. And they've been watching Michael. They want him on their team. But the risk is enormous. If he accepts their challenge, Michael will need to go off the VirtNet grid. There are back alleys and corners in the system human eyes have never seen and predators he can't even fathom - and there's the possibility that the line between game and reality will be blurred forever.

There are good and bad reviews for this book. I passed over it six times because of the bad reviews. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next ones. If you've passed this book over because of the reviews then read it any way and form your own opinion. Remember opinions are like belly buttons and but holes.....everyone has one; some are just bigger then others.

Don't judge a book by other people's reviews.

Interesting book; however, please do not expect "Ready Player One" as this will in no way compare to that experience. Book starts off fairly interesting with VR concept and has its moments. I got a little bored in the middle as it dragged with redundant action sequences - yet I was glad I hung in there. Not that the ending cannot be predicted, still was pleasantly surprised that it did and it brought nice resolution to this tale. 3.5 stars and worth a listen if you like the genre.

Ready Player None! Still worth @ listen 3.5 stars

It was amazing! I recommend if you like The Hunger Game!! The narrator was great with all of his voice impressions!

This was an amazing mind twisting book!

I loved the book. I read most of it on google play books and then moved over to audible. Once I started I couldn't stop. I had never been so enticed by a book before.

Amazing!

A new perspective on the future of gaming. This book is everything you could possibly in a story, suspenseful, and likable characters. James dasher has a gift for story telling. A perfect read for you listeners out there. I wasn't disappointed.

I really enjoyed this book but it was just a little bit slow in the begin after the first chapter. Otherwise a really solid "reading" experience.

This book is as awesome as all James Dashner books

look I'm not a big reader/listener and usually am fairly picky with what I do read. I am only here because I was recommended this book after reading ready player one which I loved and this book doesnt even feel related to it in many ways. the authors world building in the Virtual realm feels lacking, and his character motives feel inauthentic for those situations. and it's clear the author is good. just this type of virtual world fantasy is not a strength I would consider them to have. as a virtual reality book I'm like a 1 out of 5 stars. but putting the virtual reality aside the books like a 4 out of 5. recapping it, it's good but just not what I was looking for and expecting from its recommendation.

not a preferred recommendation

Non-stop intensity. Look forward to next one. Odd ending. Performance was generally good though narrator occasionally seemed to lose track of different voices in rapid dialogue.
