About this listen

Kate Moore is an expat mum, newly transplanted from Washington DC to Luxembourg, where her days are filled with play dates and coffee mornings. Kate is also guarding a secret - one so momentous it could destroy her. She finds herself looking over her shoulder, terrified her past is catching up with her. Soon Kate is buried in layers of deceit so thick they threaten her family, her marriage and her life.

The Expats

Where does The Expats rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm a newbie to audible books but this ranks among the best I've listened to so far.

What other book might you compare The Expats to and why?

John le Carrie, A Delicate Truth. Similar subject matter and the same lightness of touch enhanced by the sympathetic narrator, Buffy Davis

Which scene was your favorite?

There were many but the final meeting was the most revealing, when we became aware of the shared duplicity that had brought these people together.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No but I needed to check the the authors gender (was Chris a Christine?). As a man myself I thought the main character (Kate) was well crafted and suggested a woman's hand.

Any additional comments?

Really enjoyed this book and look forward to other novels from this author
