deep backstory

this is such a good prequel story to the amaranth! You think you know what happened but you really have no idea until you read it. makes you want to read the amaranth all over again with this new perspective.

Simply Stunning

A hidden gem here on Audible that I thoroughly enjoyed! You are eased into a new world, culture and life on Venus that seems like it is too good to be true and it is as one will find out soon enough. The narration brings it to life and Emily Smith is able to convey so many emotions for all the characters while making sure there is never a dull moment in this book.

Enjoyable narration!!

The story is about the two children, Lithia and her brother Bobby, who lived with their parents. But it was unfortunate their father used to travel for days and coming back and the children could not tell where he was going. The narration becomes enjoyable and develops some anxiousness especially when Bobby start going missing every now and then and his sister could go looking for him. One day Lithia became so suspicious after she encountered with two women who asked her questions about her father. The story continues to attract the listeners’ attention after Lithia became so curious and even enquired from the mother about the father’s journey. More questions arise in the in the course of the narration as the mother did not answer the question but rather advises Lithia to be careful with the people she talks to. Despite the high secret kept between the mother and the father, the family is hit by a sudden tragedy the seem to come as a result of the secret hat was hidden from the children. It is unfortunate the fortune claims the lives of the parents and the children are left homeless and hopeless. This narration is highly educative and the narrator has used perfectly used the tone of the story that makes it entertaining and imaginative. Highly recommended.

Intriguing

After listening to Sky Is Not The Limit, I had to go right ahead and read this sequel. In this book, we continue following the lives of Lithia and her father and this time around, we are also introduced to Lithia's brother. Strange things start happening and it becomes a mystery when her father starts taking trips without sharing information with his children. Soon, Lithia's brother starts going missing regularly, which deepens the mystery even more. This book was very touching as we get to learn what happens when families keep secrets from each other. And, I really love how the narrator understands each scene, thereby narrating with appropriate emotion. So sad that the siblings ended up losing their parents. I hope there is another book in this series because I just can't wait to hear how Lithia managed without her much-beloved father.

Non-sci story about child sodomy

Are you ready for a great sci-fi story? Then don’t listen to this book. Sci-fi was in the furthest corner. The focus here was child sodomy. While sexual assault survivor stories do have their place, don’t try to pawn it off into sci-fi when this story had nothing to do with it.
