About this listen

Twelve-year-old Gordy Stitser is one of the few people who knows the truth about the secret society of potion masters, because not only is Gordy's mom on the Board of Ruling Elixirists Worldwide (BREW), but she has also been training Gordy in the art of potion-making.

Gordy is a natural, and every day he sneaks down to the basement lab to invent new potions using exotic ingredients like fire ant eggs, porcupine quills, and Bosnian tickling juice.

One afternoon, Gordy receives a mysterious package containing an extremely rare potion known as "The Eternity Elixir." In the right hands, the Elixir continues to protect society. But in the wrong hands, it could destroy the world as we know it.

Now, sinister potion masters are on the hunt to steal the Eternity Elixir. It's up to Gordy, his parents, and his best friends, Max and Adeline, to prevent an all-out potion war.

Fun and unique

A fun and unique take on the magic genre. My daughter loved it. Michael Crouch was a wonderful narrator as well.

Amazing story! Just a lot of breathing.

Loved this story! A really sweet and creative story. I only have two issues. There’s a lot of breathing in the recording, but that’s the fault of the editor not the narrator. Also I’m fairly certain Chicxulub is not pronounced that way. It probably wouldn’t bother anyone who didn’t already know though.

Good story about potion making

It was a good listen.

The narrator is good. He's not my personal favorite, but he does different voices for each character and is consistent, so hey. What can you ask for.

The story seems to be for teenagers. It's a little overexplaining for an adult, but probably just fine for YA. The magic system is good and both icky and cool.

Good book for preteens-teens

Good clean book no swearing or anything I’d worry younger kids in the family might hear. Fun for a family road trip. Especially since there are several in the series.

A Fun Fantasy!

The Eternity Elixir is a fun fantasy story. There is action, adventure, and intrigue. It is geared toward a younger audience, but many adults may find this book diverting/amusing.

The narration is great. The narrator's pitch, volume, choices for each character's voice, and consistency are all very good. He brings the story to life.

As mentioned earlier, this book is targeted toward a younger audience. However, there are some adult concepts (potions, blood magic, deception, betrayal, going against parental authority). There are also sections that are mildly scary and/or violent. I highly recommend this audiobook for older children, teens, and adults. Enjoy!
