The old man still had it
SPOILERS - At first I thought that the entire story would be from the perspective of Uhtrech the younger, which I thought would have been cool. But I wasn't at all disappointed that after the first chapter the rest of the story was from the perspective of the older. Even being an old man, 55-ish by my guess, He can still holds his own and the story doesn't sin in the slightest.
I'm warming up to Matt Bates, who isn't horrible as a narrator. He's just not as good as Jonathan Keeble was.

Love the entire series
Thanks to the audios, I can enjoy my favorite author with my diminishing eyesight. Previously read the books, but thanks to the narration, they come to life.

The Uthred Save continues
No one can write battle scenes like Cornwell. Once again he is spot-on in this continuation of the development of England as a country. Nicely done, and, of course, whets our appetite for the next chapter.

Book 8 and I still can't get enough!!!
WOW!!! Uhtred with a deadly wound by I Spit the famous sword carried by Cnut Longsword is almost at his death bed and he must find a way to stop the pain. Uhtred must save Mercia from the take over from Earlwolf or make sure everyone will put Athelflaed the widow of Lord Ethelred as the next ruler of Mercia. With King Edward and the Danes waiting to see what will happen Uhtred must also make sure his family and the rest of his warriors will make it through the next big move to unite England. Get series and i can't wait for book 9....
