Acerca de esta escucha

Morgan Lovecraft had a problem. The world hated him for what he was, and what he could do.

Saved by Duke Kinson, Morgan found a new life in the world of Dunnishire. Orphaned as a young teenager, he found himself in a new world where making friends was easy. That all came crashing down the day he turned sixteen and found out he not only had a death affinity, but was also a necromancer. For a time, all necromancers were put down before they could gain levels or power.

Morgan was born after that nonsense, but many of the old prejudices and hatred were still prevalent. Going from having friends to being an outcast once again, he hoped his scholarship to the Mages Academy would be a new turning point for him and a way to redeem himself.

Most people think of necromancers as beings of great power who could raise hordes of the undead to do their bidding. Well, yes, that part was true. But necromancers were a fantastic utility class that could be both DPS as well as some minor healing and maybe… just maybe… cast resurrections.

All his planning, hopes, and dreams went out the window on the first day of classes when he was challenged to an honor duel. Making mortal enemies five minutes after walking into school? Being asked by the duchy to speak to the dead for them? Help them solve an assassination plot and corruption of public officials? Not wanting to be in the spotlight, the former Earth gamer finds himself right on center stage as he becomes The Duchy's Necromancer!

The Duchy's Necromancer is a fantasy LitRPG progression-based storyline. There are grownups in this book who act like grownups. They drink, swear, make bad jokes, and fall in love. What's not in this book? Harems. Sex scenes. Graphic or otherwise. There are plenty of jokes and innuendo about it, however.

I love the characters, there is minimal world building however it is a nice almost slice of life light rpg. The characters are memorable and the characters reactions are so real that it helps to bring them to life. The interactions between the characters is my favorite. The voice acting is good too which helps to bring everything to life.

Funny, and Interesting Story

Very OP MC but overall enjoyed the book and look forward to next book. The book has development of both characters and estate management towards the end.

You can tell there is a larger story at play and it's going to be a good ride.
I trust the author and enjoy the genre.

good book

Really like the story and the narration. If you like necromancers, this is what a non-evil necromancer would act like. Yes, he does become op but still a lot of fun.

One criticism is that battles felt to fast but that is not really the focus of the book so it wasn't to bad.

The second criticism is the repeating of the descriptions in the character sheet. Given how many times the character sheet is read, it becomes annoying to hear it again.

Still, this is a fun, slice of life as a necromancer story.

Good story that is easy to get into

standard OP necromancer trend.
don't be fool by the seeming academia trope, it's not relevant anymore ⅓ into the book

slice of life

This book was really hard to get through. It's a really, really, hollow story with an MC that gets everything handed to him by circumstance. No adversity whatsoever. Some of the side characters show up and aren't heard from again. The romance is cringy. The dialogue is cringy. The narrator (I'm not trying to throw shade here) absolutely fits the cringe. Any older male in this book sounds the same. The story moves extremely quickly and is resolved just as fast.

How did he get there? What is this place? Who are these people?

It's not for me but obviously it fits a niche because a lot of reviews are praising this book. If you want a book where the MC absolutely steam rolls everything with zero adversity, it's going to be a good read/listen.

Since mc is a necromancer everybody judges and treats him with disdain. He then proves he is a nice guy by getting some indentured staff and treating them nicely. He then does one or two jobs for the duchy, which he has a background and history with that is rarely extrapolated apon, but is casualy mentioned throughout the book. He then shows how much of a bad ass he is by taking down some academy students who where dueling agains him with ease all while out numbered. Then he moves to some remote building estate with is teacher gf and his indentured staff. Im guessing home building is next up in the coming book. I got this book for cheap and its not all bad, it kinda just sits at the middle between a good book and an alright one.

An academy book with the trope
