About this listen

In the ethereal world of dreams, there are champions who fight to protect the dreamer and there are demons who prey on them...

In Sherrilyn Kenyon's The Dream-Hunter, Arik is such a predator. Condemned by the gods to live eternity without emotions, Arik can only feel when he's in the dreams of others. For thousands of years, he's drifted through the human unconscious, searching for sensation. Now he's finally found a dreamer whose vivid mind can fill his emptiness.

Dr. Megeara Kafieri watched her father ruin himself and his reputation as he searched to prove Atlantis was real. Her deathbed promise to him to salvage his reputation has now brought her to Greece where she intends to prove once and for all that the fabled island is right where her father said it was. But frustration and bad luck dog her every step. Especially the day they find a stranger floating in the sea. His is a face she's seen many times.... in her dreams.

What she doesn't know is that Arik holds more than the ancient secrets that can help her find the mythical isle of Atlantis. He has made a pact with the god Hades: In exchange for two weeks as a mortal man, he must return to Olympus with a human soul. Megeara's soul.

With a secret society out to ruin her expedition, and mysterious accidents that keep threatening her life, Megeara refuses to quit. She knows she's getting closer to Atlantis and as she does, she stumbles onto the truth of what Arik really is.

For Arik his quest is no longer simple. No human can know of a Dream-Hunter's existence. His dream of being mortal has quickly turned into his own nightmare and the only way to save himself will be to sacrifice the very thing he wanted to be human for. The only question is, will he?

Love the series!

Dream Hunter and the subsequent Dream Hunter novels are an interesting take for the Dark Hunter series. It veers off the path from the normal Damon/Were Hunter/Dark Hunter/gods stuff and gives a different perspective of how the worlds fit together, but it references parts to the overall storyline that are important. Fred Berman is awesome per usual! He brings the stories alive!

Loved it !

Sherrilynn Kenyon never disappoints, so many turns in the plot .. anxiety, pleasure and humor . I loved this story, from beginning to end !! And the reader is one of my favorite narrator’s . I can’t wait to listen to another story by Mrs. Kenyon. Thank you audible for carrying so many titles.

Dream hunter beginings.

This is the first of the Dream Hunter series but many in the Dark Hunter series although I think the time line of this story begins before the first Dark Hunter book, but it is not clear. Very good I enjoy Fred Berman and I actually enjoyed listening to this better than reading it.

Love!

I absolutely loved this book. I hope there are more on the dream hunters! Fred Berman did an awesome job as usual. I wish all these books were hours longer than they are, LOL!

Ignore neg reviews-story is great!

As has become so common in the past few years, “Karen’s” love leaving negative reviews when they are unwarranted. Sherrilyn’s books are well written and the story lines are amazing. Once again, she has given us a story that is everything a paranormal romance reader could ask for. The characters represent the dichotomy of humans, so they are neither all-good, nor all-bad. Even the protagonists in her stories end up having more of their pasts revealed which show the reader why her story’s villains act as they do.

This is the first full dream hunter story in the series, and as you continue with the series, more is revealed regarding their species and the reader gets updates on how their lives are shaping up after their story is told. This is a good stand alone novel but reading the previous books in the series will allow the reader to understand why the supporting characters act as they do. I simply enjoy this series and thought this was an amazing way to introduce the dream hunters into the dark hunter family. The characters in this book play a major role later in Acheron’s story, which if read in order, the reader will be anxious to hear.

If you enjoy this author, two other series similar to this one that I enjoy from different authors are: Immortals After Dark and The Carpathian Series. Hope this review helps.
