About this listen

After finding the ruins of a Mayan temple - and saving the world from a terrorist attack - in One Rough Man, Pike Logan has been given the chance to rejoin the Taskforce, a top-secret counterterrorist organization that operates outside the bounds of US law. But before he becomes an operator again, he’s determined to get Jennifer Cahill into the Taskforce as well, though no one else seems willing to give a female civilian a shot. Jennifer herself would rather focus on setting up their new company, Grolier Recovery Services, an archaeological research agency that Pike hopes will also serve as a sophisticated cover for future Taskforce missions. When Grolier receives its first job offer to check out a site in Roswell, New Mexico, Jennifer convinces Pike to go. But once they arrive it’s clear that there’s a lot more going on than a simple search for Indian artifacts, and uncovering the secrets carefully guarded out in the desert could not only cost them their future with the Taskforce, but their very lives.

narrator

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The first book had such great narrators, why in God's name would you change!!??!!
Once guy sounds like he's 80 years old and the other really young. Does not mesh will at all!! I'm going to return the 3rd book I purchased without listening to it and won't purchase any more unless they use the original narrators.

Would you recommend The Dig to your friends? Why or why not?

No, didn't like the narrators.

What didn’t you like about Rich Orlow and Henry Strozier ’s performance?

They were not the first pair and one of them is too old for an action book.

Could you see The Dig being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No

Any additional comments?

Go back to the original narrators!!!

Two Narrators?

While the story was decent, and the characters relatable, have two different narrators is distracting, unnecessary, and just plain stupid.

This should be book 1.5.

This story had great character development. This really should be listed as book 1.5. Because it takes place the selection process.

Good story and narration

I enjoy this continuation of the series, I wish it was longer! I can see the making of a movie with the balance between the main characters of a middle school crush and fun humor.

Annoyed

Would you try another book from Brad Taylor and/or Rich Orlow and Henry Strozier ?

I'm tired of having to use a credit to buy all these not even half a book. Add this stuff to your novel.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Make it a whole book

What three words best describe Rich Orlow and Henry Strozier ’s voice?

Great. Perfect for the series

Was The Dig worth the listening time?

No. Add these stories to your novels.

Good - Standard Pike Logan

In the audiobook intro, the lady refers to him as "Spike" Logan. How embarrassing for a recording company to get that wrong.

Short Story tells more about Pike/Jennifer relationship

I liked that it was all about Jennifer and Pike. However, I also realize the limitations of a short story that minimizes the complexity of relationships. I guess having corporate bad guys instead of Islamic terrorists adds some variety. Easy to beat up on businesses. Overall, an entertaining story.

A Good Suspense with a good story line!

This audio book has great narration and is ull of action and suspense!

The length of the story is perfect for a flight, or drive but not to long to need interruptions.

The story is realistic in nature which makes it believable and better... definitely worth it!

Fun Story but strange performance

I enjoy the Pike stories, just not the two narrators that perform the readings. I wish they would stick with just one narrator instead of the two person format. The short story was good in that it continues the developing odd relationship between Pike and Jennifer, which I found entertaining.
