About this listen

An enemies-to-lovers, drunk-married-in-Vegas, accidental pregnancy romance between the grumpiest hedge fund manager and most irresponsible doctor you've ever met.
Keeley: Last January, I drunk-married my nemesis—hot, oversized geek Graham Tate. With no memory of how it came about, there was only one solution: run off before he woke up and pretend it didn't happen. It would have worked perfectly if I hadn't wound up pregnant.

Graham is the opposite of everything I want in a man—practical, disciplined, frugal—but living with him until the baby arrives has me wondering if, perhaps, I've been wanting the wrong things all along. And if that drunk version of me last January might have been onto something.

Graham: I never planned to have kids, and I certainly wouldn't have planned on one with Keeley Connolly—a woman who does not believe in savings accounts or personal safety and thinks Lucky Charms is a health food because of the non-marshmallow bits.

A woman who also didn't think twice about marrying me in Vegas and ditching me hours later.

I can't wait to put this behind me and return to my careful, chaos-free life in New York. But the more time I spend with Keeley, the more I'm remembering the things that led me to marry her in the first place...and wondering if I can live without them when this ends."

Great Addition to the Series

I have enjoyed listening to this series, and Keeley and Graham are a great addition.
Keeley and Graham are frenemies who are opposites. Keeley is a new, young doctor looking forward to the next great thing. Carefree, she spends money like crazy, never thinking about her future aside from the next pair of shoes, new outfit, or party. She's a hot mess. Graham knows what he wants for his future and is building and saving toward his goals. Keeley views Graham as dull and does all she can to avoid him. So imagine her surprise when she wakes up with him in Vegas with rings on their fingers.

I loved the banter between these two, and the Vegas scene had me laughing. They have chemistry together, but both do not see each other as partner material. However, Keeley learns she came back from Vegas with more than a wedding ring and, for once, has to think of more than just herself.

A little on the emotional side, I really enjoyed this story. The narration from Samantha Brentmoor and Wen Ross was wonderful.

A new favorite!

This was one of my favorite books of 2022! This enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, fake relationship, accidental pregnancy, slow burn romance was exceptional! I loved everything about this book including the narration! This is my first book by Elizabeth O’Roark and it won’t be my last. I love her writing and the way she has crafted her characters. The narrators were perfect for the characters and I could not have imagined better narrators!

Hilarious, enchanting romance!!

The Devil Gets His Due, an Audiobook by Elizabeth O’Roark is the tempestuous story of Graham and Keeley. This story was a joy to read…the tongue-in-cheek humor had me grinning, laughing, and guffawing at times. Keeley was REALLY irritating….selfish, immature, and sooooo not the kind of person for Graham. But, somehow….it works!!! But, there are so many issues, problems, and unexpected twists that will keep you highly entertained!! With him and his ‘actuarial tables’ and her with her tempting wardrobe….there’s no way they can possibly be a ‘thing’

This Audiobook was hilariously narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Wen Ross. These two are performance GEMS!!! I especially loved Samantha’s interpretation of the words….Wen has a wonderful dry, dry humor. Wonderful interpretations and performances!!

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this Audiobook.

Cute

This was my first book by this author. I really enjoyed reading it. Keeley was much more quirky and pretentious to the outside world so a quickie marriage and accidental pregnancy, made her ‘grow up’ however she really was nearly the outside world saw. I mean she is a doctor. I didn’t really understand initially what would prompt Graham to marry her on a drunken night but we did get more of a back story as book goes on. Truthfully Graham has always seen Keeley through it all, thus why he married her, stands up for her and never questions a family with her. I really liked the book and want to read more by this author.

Another great Elizabeth O’Roark book

Audiobook on audible
Samantha Brentmoor and Wen Ross
As always Sam was incredible, I absolutely love her voice.
Wen took some getting used to, but he grew on me and ended up being the perfect Graham.

An accidental marriage turned accidental pregnancy.
Turns into Graham moving to LA to New York to stay with Keeley during her pregnancy.
She’s messy and sporadic and he’s planned and proper.
There is so much happening in this story and the banter is so good.
She’s a doctor and by the way she acts and loves her life you couldn’t imagine her being one.
He’s rich and super frugal and it drives her crazy in a funny way.
I just loved them getting to know each other and him earning her respect while growing their child and he getting to know more about him too.
It’s spicy but be nothing crazy, but when he’s in charge he’s got a dirty side and I was here for it.

Heartwarming and Sizzling Romance!

I loved this 'opposites attract' romance! I had so much fun listening to Keeley, and Graham's heartwarming and steamy story. Keeley loves her carefree single life. When she has to team up with sexy, frugal Graham to plan a party, they clash right from the start. But that was their foreplay and after a drunken night together, they end up married. Keeley runs out the next day, hoping to forget all about the best night of passion she has ever had, but with the most infuriating man. Now 4 months later, she is starting her new job, and surprisingly pregnant. When Graham finds out, he drops everything and moves in with Keeley, promising to help her through her pregnancy. He fell for the wild free spirited woman, even tho she was not his type but everything he needed. Neither ever wanted to get married or have kids. But the more time they spend together, their preconceived ideas about each other are replaced with respect, and their clash of personalities is replaced with fiery passion and love. But when they are afraid to ask for more, will they lose the family they started to build, breaking both their hearts anyway? I fell so hard for Keeley and Graham and loved watching them push each other out of their comfort zones, proving it was exactly what they both needed, and bringing out the best in each other.
Samantha Brentmoor, and Wen Ross's narration made this story and these characters come to life so beautifully. They both balanced each characters strength, vulnerability, heartache, and passion, and made me laugh, cry, and fall in love. They completely pulled me in to this world and I felt like I was right there with Keeley, Graham, and all their family and friends.

This series is amazing!

Every story in this series is one I have loved. Graham and Keeley's story was a bit of a slower start for me. I had a harder time with Keeley at first until I really started to understand her and where some of her behaviors and insecurities came from. I loved the grumpy Graham and how he silently fought for Keeley even though she didn't realize that's what he was doing. These two surprised me at every turn and I loved their story. It was an instant connection, but took months for them to work through all of their baggage. This was a great story and I hope there is more to come in this world!

The narrators did a great job bringing this story to life. I am a newer listener of Wen, but he did a great job and I really enjoyed the story.
