About this listen

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Becca Steele, comes the final book in the international bestselling series, The Four...

Scarred. Ruined. Broken.

Zayde Lowry was the boy I was never supposed to love. Our families have been rivals for generations, and I knew that if anyone discovered our secret, there would be hell to pay.

But I fell for him anyway. He called me his angel, and he bared the darkest corners of his soul to me. In return, I gave him my whole heart.

Then tragedy struck. I lost the two most important people in my life, and the man who was supposed to care for me, my own father, crossed an unforgivable line.

In one night, my entire world was destroyed, and ashes were all that remained.

I left Alstone behind, and never planned to return. Until the day I received the news that the man who raised me was behind bars.

Now it’s time to come back. To face the demons of my past so that I can move on to my future. Alone.

I never counted on Zayde messing with my plan.

He still wants me.

But even though my heart still skips a beat when I see him, I can’t let myself forget what he did. I need to stay away from him.Too bad for me, he has other ideas…

Zayde and Fallon

Zayde and Fallon take us on their journey in Tʜᴇ Dᴀʀᴋɴᴇss ɪɴ Yᴏᴜ by Becca Steele, the sixth book in The Four series.

Zayde and Fallon met when they were very young and as time went on they fell in love but then one night destroyed everything. Two years later, Fallon is back in Alstone and this time Zayde is determined to keep her.

Zayde and Fallon were well worth the wait. Zayde and Fallon have been through so much that it is a testament to their strength. I am happy they were able to find their way back to each other even after the incredibly bumpy road they had to take. It was great to get updates/see the entire Four crew.

Gregory Salinas and Kelli Tager did an amazing job bringing a great read to life in this audiobook. I have always loved Gregory Salinas as a narrator and enjoyed my first experience with Kelli Tager.

If you enjoy…

🖤 Dark•Suspense • 🩷 Secret Relationship • 🖤 Second Chance • 🩷 Childhood Sweethearts • 🖤 MF w/HEA • 🩷 Dual First-Person POV

…this book may be for you!

It was great to get updates of the entire crew and they are going to be missed. I highly recommend reading/listening to this series in order.

🖤IV Eva🖤

The Darkness in You is E•P•I•C! Zayde wouldn’t allow anything less than that, I’m sure. This dark and broken bad boy’s story will have you rooting so hard for the boy from the wrong side of town. You will root so hard for the sweet broken kiddos who find refuge and peace in each other. Their bond is born of a sweet friendship that neither can live without.

I can’t imagine being in Zayde or Fallon’s position, knowing that their choices affect so many things that altered their past and present.

I love this dark and broken group of friends and their BA boss babes 4 EVA!

…hoping we get Mack & Kinslee??

🖤fave quotes📖

"To live in the hearts of those we love is not to die." — FML I love this quote. 😢

"But that’s the thing with the darkness in your mind. It’s like a suffocating, insidious fog, spreading into your blackest corners, whispering that everyone would be better off without you. Telling you that everything would stop hurting if you just gave in and let go." — 🥺😭 I just want to hug Z. 😕

"He shot me a sly look, and when I narrowed my eyes, he smirked. 'That serial killer stare doesn’t work on me, mate. Never has.'" — This group is so tight, but Cade and Z are next level.

**Audiobook Review:**

The audiobook version of The Darkness in You, narrated by Gregory Salinas and Kelli Tager, adds an extra layer of depth to the story. Their performances bring Zayde, Fallon, and the rest of the characters to life in a way that truly enhances the emotional impact of the narrative. Gregory's portrayal of Zayde captures his complex, brooding nature perfectly, while Kelli's voice adds a nuanced touch to Fallon’s strength and vulnerability. Together, they make an already riveting story even more immersive.

J and F had to overcome a lot.

Thank you Steele. The story of Z & F was a great addition to the four.

Let the healing begin…

This book is a beautiful blend of the present timeline mixed with scenes of Zayde and Fallon finding each other as kids. We get to see how they started and how Zayde got to be how we know him from the previous books in the series. He's the last to find his match when really he was the first and no one else knew.

Zayde grew up in the poor part of town alone with his single mother. When she takes him on a cleaning job with her to a rich community, it's there he meets Fallon. Neither of them cares about what makes them different, because they just connect. That all changes when his mother discovers Zayde's father is actually loaded. She makes a deal to send him off to be with his father while she remains behind to spend his father's money on drugs.

As it turns out Zayde's father and his friends have a long standing rivalry with Fallon's father. This results in their children following that same path. So their relationship continues to be a secret. But it's a tragic event that truly pulls them apart.

Years later they find themselves back in the same orbit with so many dark and mixed feelings standing in their way. Their journey to rediscover the truth and their true feelings is full of ups and downs. Lies, betrayal, and greed try to pull them apart.

They both have tortured pasts that they deal with on both the physical and emotional levels. They have a second chance to make things right and to not stay hidden. I loved these two together. Even when it's hard they can't fight their inevitability.
