Publisher's summary

Ex-DCI Luke Sackville investigates nefarious activities at Wessex Police at the request of the Chief Constable. He and his Ethics Team put their own lives at risk as they seek to unveil the guilty.

Luke is horrified when he discovers that a long-established secret society is behind the corruption and is planning a series of attacks on the public. He finds himself in a race against time to identify and capture the secret society’s members before innocent people are murdered on an unprecedented scale.

The Corruption Code is the fourth nail-biting book in the Luke Sackville Crime Series.

Outstanding Thriller!

Today I fed my Luke Sackville thriller addiction by listening to The Corruption Code. Each book in this series has not only provided a unique investigation of some very heinous act, but further developed each member of Luke’s Ethics team to the point I feel like I’ve known each of them for years. The way each person contributes to the investigation and brings a unique strength that the other members are lacking is one of the strong points of this series. As I looked at today’s news, I couldn’t help thinking about the story I had been listening to. The topic of the news was a twin to the story arc in The Corruption Code. In this case it is sad these attitudes and situations exist in real life for everyone involved.

Along with the investigations(s), the personal challenges each of the Ethics team members faced in this story kept me fully involved throughout the story. Of course, Samuel James’ narration aided that involvement. I believe at this point he could leave out any dialogue tag lines and I would immediately identify the character speaking. Samuel has given each of the characters unique voices that perfectly fit their character traits. Additionally, his diction, pacing and vocal variations are the secret sauce that makes the audiobooks immersive in my estimation.
