About this listen

Commander Karter is a Prillon Warrior. His first duty is to protect his people, to defend the Coalition worlds from a fate too terrible to comprehend. Battle is his life. His heart. He fights. He has never once been selfish enough to believe he deserved an Interstellar Bride. Until he’s matched at the worst possible time.

Astronomer Erica Roberts has always dreamed of seeing the stars. Volunteering as an Interstellar Bride is a win-win, not only will she be able to see the galaxy, but she’s more than ready to take on the two alien warriors she’s been promised. She’s all in. But when she transports directly into the aftermath of a battle, she quickly learns this won’t be an easy match. Her two commanders are torn between battling the Hive and battling their need for her.

If a new Hive weapon can destroy a Coalition battlegroup in the space of a single heartbeat, what will it do to Commander Karter’s match? And how is he and his second supposed to keep their mate safe if they can’t even save themselves?

So Good!!!

This is my first time leaving a review, but I had to. Erica was so well written and narrated. There was at a certain point, which I don’t wanna necessarily give away because it was a spoiler that had me crying. I grew up military and I so empathize with the female character. The way she was written and the way the narrator portrayed her was so good it was so good highly recommend so well depicted.

Entertaining read

I really enjoyed this one. I had fun with Kade, Ronan and Erica and watching them come together and figure things out. Ronan and Kade were very close but Kade thought Ronan was dead for the last five years as he was in the IC and now he shows back up when a battle group is attacked and of course that is when Kade is matched. Kade had asked Ronan to be his second and now is that time. I loved watching these two come back together and figure things out. They have both been lonely and in the trenches and Kade is having a problem with the danger and exposing Erica to their darker emotions with the collars. I loved how Erica threw herself all in. She was ready and wanted this and felt the connection with both men so it was hard that Kade wouldn’t give her a collar right away. I loved the other human women and how they interacted with Erica and gave the men hell. This story was hot and entertaining and I really enjoyed it.
The narrator did a good job with the story and characters and bringing them to life.

good

The 3 narrators did such an awesome job! I was so pleased that the female wasn't a pushover. These three, as in all G.G. books, were meant for each other.

Ok

Not sure why but this book didn’t hold my attention like others; it wasn’t bad, maybe just not as interesting, lacked humor, was mostly dark and serious. Narrators did a good job.

Fierce heroine!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍
Character development: 😊😘🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Erica - she is a human woman who has nothing to stay on Earth for. She is an astronomer who has always looked to the stars for answers, so she signs up for the Interstellar brides' program. She is immediately matched to a Prillon warrior. A Prillon warrior who is matched with a bride always choose a second because they are at war. She will have two mates because while at war, so many Prillon warriors die, that when there are two, there is always one to take care of a mate if one of them dies.

The Heroes: Captain Cade Karter & Ronin - Cade and Ronin are Prillon warriors. Captain Karter is the commander of a coalition Battlegroup and is in charge of over 5000 beings. Ronin is with the IC (Intelligence Core) and is the second to Cade Karter. Cade and Ronin were researching the Battlegroup that was just decimated by a new Hive weapon which can apparently kill everyone without being in the vicinity.

The Story: Erica is immediately transferred to the Battleship after she is matched with Cade and Ronin. They are happy to be mated but are in a bad spot because they are in the midst of a very stressful time with the Hive having a new and powerful secret weapon for which they have no idea on how it works or what exactly it can do.

The story was decent. The guys wanted to protect their bride, so they decided not to formally mate her and give her a mating collar. Since the collar allowed mates to feel the emotions of each other and the men are in such a stressful time with what they are dealing with, and they don’t want to put her through that. It was an interesting storyline and the Hive seem to always have some bigger and badder weapon or technology. After the coalition finally figure one out, another worse one is on the horizon. I liked the fact that the heroine was strong.

This audiobook was done in multiple points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by James Anderson Foster, Rock Engle and Kelsey Navarro. I really like Kelsey Navarro’s voice and style. She does a great job. The two men are good narrators and are good at using different voices for different characters and showing emotion through their voices, but neither are on my list of favorite male narrators. I tend to like male narrators with deeper voices.

New narrators!

Thank you! Ms Navarro is such a great improvement to Audrey Conway. Although Mr. Pottsworth is ok, Messrs. Foster and Engle were so much better. These 3 new narrators were smoother, had better inflection and emotion and were easier on the ear. PLEASE continue to use these new voices.
