About this listen

Are you putting your whole faith in God but still living as if everything is up to you?

You may believe in God, attend church, and generally treat people with kindness…but are you living as if God doesn't exist? Have you surrendered to God completely, living every day depending upon the Holy Spirit?

Pastor and bestselling author Craig Groeschel will lead you on a personal journey toward an authentic, God-honoring life. This honest, hard-hitting, and eye-opening look into the ways people believe in God but live as if he doesn't exist is a classic of discipleship training. Groeschel's personal journey will help you break down your own barriers between simple belief and a more intentional faith.

This book will help you:

  • Let go of the shame of your past and know that you’re forgiven.
  • Embrace Christ’s profound love for you.
  • Believe in the power of prayer.
  • Give up control when life doesn't seem fair.
  • Trust God with all your anxious thoughts, heartache, struggles, and pain.

From the author of Winning the War in Your Mind, The Christian Atheist is a rallying cry to get honest with God, shed the self-sufficiency and the hypocrisy, and live a life that truly brings glory to Christ.

Straightforward and True

As a Christian, this book made me see how easy it is to go through the motions with our relationship with Christ. Good time to refocus on what's important.

A Must Read for All Belivers

Just saying I believe in Christ isn't enough, I must live it out each day. This book shows many of the excuses that we so easily get stuck in rather than total belief. Craig gives practical ways of living out a true Faith in Christ.

Good Reminders GREAT Narration,

I’m glad I listened to this book. I almost didn’t buy it because of all the reviews stating the narration was terrible.

I think this is a good book for anyone. It is good for new Christians and for People who have been Christians for many years. You may think because you have been a good “Christian” for years you don’t need a book like this. It is easy for all Believers to fall into complacency or simply do things out of habit. This book hits many areas in our lives where we may be falling short, and ways to overcome them. There are some good reminders and I found myself challenged in few areas. It definitely made me check my heart. New believers will see that no one is doing the Christianity thing perfectly all the time, as well as give them things to think about and try.

I enjoy reading or listening to this author’s books, but I don’t enjoy the author’s presentation/animated way of talking. I very much enjoyed this Narrator! He read wonderfully! Just because he doesn’t talk the way the author does, doesn’t mean it’s terrible narration. I would have never bought the book if the author would have read it himself. I say all of this for others who may not want to read/listen due to the Narration score. If you like hyped up, sometimes over the top way of speaking/listening, you may not like this. If you like normal, calm way of talking, good humor delivered well, you will like this narration.

I put this book off for a long time...

I guess God meant for me to read in His timing.
It is a very very good book. By far, one of the most down to earth, honest I've read, and coming from the heart of a Pastor of a large church, very hopeful for the rest of us (sometimes) Christian atheists, that we do not struggle alone.
So thankful for this work. I think this will be one I read again... and again.
Highly recommend, unless you're blessed enough to have this walk with Christ down to perfection. Which I can't help but doubt. 😊

Eye Opening

I’ve grown up in a Christian house hold and I still go to church as much as I can (crazy schedule) but Craig Grosechel opens your eyes to more than the motions of Christianity seen as today. It’s very inspirational and I striving not to be a Christian atheist.

Every Modern Christian Deserves to Know

To know whether your faith is real, your walk with God will stand the test of eternity and whether you can trust you really are who and what you say and think you are - a 'real' Christian, go ahead and delve in but beware; you may discover you are only an imitation on display. Even those walking a long, strong faith will be challenged in a most excellent way.
