About this listen

In 1856 Abraham Lincoln was a former congressman who had grown bored with his work as a lawyer, until he was drawn into the murder case that would define his career. This book reveals not only the mystery of the murder case as investigated by Lincoln but also the mystery of Abraham Lincoln as investigated by the author.©2007 Julie Fenster (P)2007 Blackstone Audio, Inc. awesome

I love fact that I live in the area the book is written about and I have been to all the towns that's in the book. It gives me a feel of what my local history was.

Abe I never knew you

From the early part of his career, when he was a sought after attorney. I was pleased to find he was a cat lover. Definitely recommended.

Not so hot

While I found this book somewhat interesting, I do not understand why the publisher claims that the Anderson case 'defined his career'. The sideline plots (completely unrelated to the case) gives yet another review of how the Republica party came to be.

Not what it was advertised to be

I found that there really wasn't anything in this book that I didn't already know and it really wasn't about the murder case so much as it was about the formation of the Republican Party. Pretty dry at that.
