The Butcher Shop Girl begins with Carmen’s unique coming-of-age as she’s ripped from her extended family after her Catholic parents’ divorce. I only wish the Author spoke more in depth about her parents and especially what happened after her stripper days were over. I would love a second book to find out where her life lead her in adulthood and if she ever reunited and reconciled with her Mother.
