About this listen

On Ronan Thatcher’s first week in Montana, he spots the most beautiful woman in the world. Love at first sight? Nah. He doesn’t believe in love. But he wouldn’t mind a date or two with the local beauty. Ronan is the type of man who gets what he wants, and he wants Larke Hale.

Except Calamity’s sweetheart has sworn off men. The last time Ronan was rejected was, well…never. Yet Larke dismisses him without even batting those pretty brown eyes.

Bruised ego in check, he’s about to walk away when a teenager marches into his office and asks to hire Ronan as her lawyer. Something about a bad grade and a ruined grade point average that will inevitably destroy her future. He’s about to lecture the kid for being melodramatic until he learns that the teacher she wants to sue is Larke.

Suddenly this frivolous lawsuit seems like a bright idea. Ronan wants Larke’s attention and this is guaranteed to snag it. So let the brawl begin.

The Brawl

WE LOVE A HE FALLS FIRST MOMENT! From the beginning of this book I was hooked. A man who sees a woman and instantly knows he wants her? Absolutely obsessed. But when that man is a lawyer, you'd assume he'd be full of himself... NOPE! He is everything and more, and the way he was willing to sacrifice things for people he didn't even know had me swooning! This story was great and I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Larke and Ronan!

Needing a change after a traumatic event in his life Ronan has relocated to Calamity and started a law practice. Being the new lawyer in town he is thankful for every client as he tries to build his clientele, but he never expected that one of those clients would be Ember, a high school student trying to use the legal system to change a grade she believes will impact her entire future.

Larke is a single mother whose family have always lived in Calamity. She prefers to teach elementary school however she now finds herself teaching high school and isn’t enjoying it as much as she would like. The situation only becomes more tense with Ember’s legal action against her as the lawyer is not only her neighbor but the man she is starting to develop feelings for.

From first glance Ronan knew that Larke and her daughter were special, and he was determined to win both their hearts despite Larke’s reservations. He also knows that that there is more going on with Ember and that uncovering the truth will give everyone the answers they need. The audio performance of this story brought out both the emotions and the romance and the narrators make these characters even more relatable.

Fun read.

I love everything this author writes, I fall in love with the characters in every story, she’s truly gifted with the art of storytelling. The Brawl is one of my favorite tropes, small town, single parent, a little guessing to know what’ll happened chapter after chapter. This story isn’t too heavy but their enough to the story to keep my attention. Another goodie by Willa Nash.

The Brawl by Willa Nash

Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance
-Lawyer (H) x Teacher (h)
-Single parent (h)
-Small town
-Dual POV
-Standalone (5th in a series)

This was so so good!! Hands down the best in the series for me. Ronan is easily my new favorite Devney Perry hero. I loved how infatuated he was with Lark right from the start and how he wouldn’t take no for an answer (but not in a creepy way I promise!). He was cocky, self-confident, deeply caring, and empathetic. He was full of contradictions and he was just that much more endearing because of it. Lark was such a strong and independent hero. I was obsessed with her and Wren, they were seriously the cutest little family unit. I also liked how Lark didn’t give in to Ronan’s charms right away, she really made him work for her trust and affection. This was filled with the classic Devney Perry small town charm, but also acknowledged a lot of the problems that come with small town living (ie., lack of privacy, gossiping, limited opportunities). And the audiobook was top tier, shoutout to Teddy Hamilton and Ava Erickson.

CWs for child abandonment, divorce, custody anxiety, attempted murder (not on page/discussed in conversation), financial hardship

Entire series is Credit worthy ✨✨✨

Loved all the series. Characters are developed, narration is spot on. Each book has a special touching story that is unique to the series. The town of Calamity comes to light and is it's own character. I am looking forward to the next episode.
