The story was told from the author’s personal experience.

I disliked the narrator’s voice.
The author generalized/stereotyped the Gentiles living in his village. He considered all of them lazy, worthless, etc.

A sad and disturbing story of a teen survivor of the Holocaust. The narrative was concise and the reader add the right amount of empathy and sympathy to the story.

Better Understanding

I am 65 yrs old. My mother is Jewish. This book helped me to better understand why the state of Israel is so important to the Jewish people. Never again will they be physically removed from their homes because of their religion.

Review from a child’s perspective.

The author took us back through his life and the narrator conveyed the emotions excellently of the author. Glad I got this book as it was also on my Amazon wish list for the actual book, this was way better.

Amazing Book

It is quite amazing how much he is able to recall about his horrible tragic experience as a holocaust survivor. I believe it is important to read these stories and hear them in first person as many survivors are in their 90s and soon this is all we will have left!

The will to survive

the community that was established in spite of such evil. Hope finds a way to prevail.

Encompassing perspective

This powerful memoir gave a complete perspective which was very impactful. Highly recommend this to everyone, especially our young generation so that this is never repeated.
