This was an amazingly complex book.A mother gives birth to a baby who dies.She then finds a baby in a well.He is different.Where did he come from?We go on a LONG journey to find out how this child is related to the biblical Jesus among others.The narrator,Charles Henderson Norman was good ,for the most part.His grating voices were supposed to be irritating,I suppose.“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”

Holey Moley!

Daoust pretty much has it all:
-a complex storyline written simply, but covering some complex topics;
-multiple timelines; ranging from 37,000 years ago, to 2,000 years ago, and modern day;
-writing that is part spoof, comedy, supernatural, parody, mystery, farce, thriller, science fiction....and even poetic ;-)
-he covers religion, science, politics, history, mysticism, justice, gambling, treachery, incest, redemption.
There’s so much going on that I’ve been relistening to several parts, many times, before giving any review.
I think the only thing missing is Christopher Moore challenging Dan Brown to bowling with frozen turkeys at the Safeway.
If you’re very impatient, or very religious, this may not be for you.
If you enjoy creativity, this one is worth checking out.
CH Norman delivers the right voice to carry off this book: mature adult male with an element of Edward R Murrow’s reporting nous; but also the narrator from the Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons.

A lot of work went into this book

If you could sum up The Boy Who Set Fire to the Bible in three words, what would they be?

A look at the history of man and good and evil. from the point of view from Heaven and hell. In many ways this book reminds me of The DaVinci Code, a lot of research into not only Religious studies but science goes into books like this.

What did you like best about this story?

This book was full of twists and turns just when you think you have an idea of what is going on, you find yourself sitting stunned because you did not see that coming.

What does Charles Henderson Norman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator was able to bring voice and personality to each of the characters so that you knew more about them than you would have known from just reading the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Theon E. Rex met Jesus in a cell in Hell. The justification for him being in the cell just floored me, I think of Jesus as being sin free so why was he in hell? He had taken all the sins of mankind on his shoulders so his sin is as great as all of mankind.

Any additional comments?

I look forward to book 2 there are so many places this story can go and I look forward to going on the journey.

This books has a unique story. It grabs your interest right from the beginning and keeps your attention right until the end. Heaven, hell...many possibilities.

This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
Wow, this book blew me away! Think De Vinci Code, throw in SETI, Nostradamus, Nazis, different theories you may not have heard of, Satan, Jesus, the Pope, Mary, and a wormhole, and mix, shake, and add lots of danger, intrigue, and a hell of a ride and you have this amazing book!
This book is so thought out...all of these small details...wow..to all come together so well, it was an awesome story although some people will find it offensive, but it is just fiction folks. If you were offended by De Vinci Code, don't read this. If you loved De Vinci Code, you will love this!
An FBI agent, checking out leads concerning the deaths of newborns, falls in a well while taking a break with his wife. His wife helps him out. She finds a baby, a special baby....a baby soon everyone wants..... He can do so much! But who is he really, who is his father? It keeps you on your toes until the end! So cool!
The narrator has this down pat! The voice is perfect for this role. He can do the little boy, the little children, women, the the gruff men, all the emotions, the suspense, all the intrigue, you feel it all come through! Perfect narrator for this book! Great job! I want to know if there is a next book because I want to hear it! Wonderful!!!

Turns the bible on its head

I was grew up Catholic and received all the sacraments, but lately due to personal tragedy, I’ve drifted from God. Because of this I thought I would be open-minded when it came to religion. And hence, it would be perfectly OK to listen to this book.

Boy was I was wrong. At first, I was ok with it. But as time went on I started squirming in my seat as I listened. This book turns the entire concept of God and Jesus on it’s head. If you are religious, this book is definitely not for you. It’s going to laugh in the face of everything you have been taught, believe, and have faith in.

If you aren’t religious, then you will have no problem with the subject of this book. Getting past THAT, there is a LOT in this book. It’s dense. It’s creative. And it’s campy. The author takes a LOT of leaps to connect dots that have heretofore never been connected before.

I have no complaints with the narrator. His comedic timing was spot on and his female voices were realistic. His unique voice, while older, seemed to suit the story just fine.

This audiobook was gifted to me by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

This was a very interesting book. It was very reminiscent of De Vinci Code, with a whole lot of paranormal and X Files thrown in. It is thought provoking and well narrated. I think it is definitely worth a listen.
