Acerca de esta escucha

The magical and mesmerising story of how tomorrow can change what happens today.

Tamara’s childhood. With her mother shut away with grief, and her aunt busy tending to her, Tamara is lonely and bored and longs to return to Dublin.

When a travelling library passes through Kilsaney Demesne, Tamara is intrigued. She needs a distraction. Her eyes rest on a mysterious large leather bound tome locked with a gold clasp and padlock. With some help, Tamara finally manages to open the book. What she discovers within the pages takes her breath away and shakes her world to its core.

Told in Cecelia’s imitable style, The Girl of Tomorrow is a mesmerising and magical story for this autumn.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes and no. It was a good introduction for me of Cecelia Ahern's style of writing, and I will definitely read more of her novels; this book was a light read, but it had too many important characters that one didn't really get to know...

Would you be willing to try another book from Cecelia Ahern? Why or why not?

Definitely! Her ability to capture narrator's emotions was incredible. It's what kept me going through as long as I did, though I ultimately didn't like the book enough to finish it.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Actually, I would... it would've made a great movie!

Any additional comments?

The book was OK; Ali Coffey's performance was quite good, with the glaring exception of her dialogue. I will read more from Ms. Ahern, but this one just didn't do it for me.

Talented author, but not a great book
