About this listen

The book of Ezekiel contains some of the most incredible prophecies in the Bible, including detailed description of a nuclear war and the cleanup afterward. Ezekiel ministered to a nation experiencing judgment for its sins, and may have some lessons for us today. Ezekiel's name means "God strengthens, or God will strengthen". Ezekiel is one of the three that were called Captivity Prophets (the other two are Jeremiah and Daniel). Ezekiel never mentions Jeremiah in his writings, but he does mention Daniel three times.

Chuck helped me to contextualize Ezekiel

I'm very grateful for this audio recording of Chuck Missler's teaching on Ezekiel. I feel far more confident navigating Ezekiel myself after hearing Chuck break the book down into its components (while also preserving key principles and narrative as it relates to God's story). God did write us an excellent story which is centered around himself and his own Son, Jesus (who is the exact image of the invisible God). I hope Chuck's teaching helps you to see Ezekiel as part of that narrative too, not a disconnected series of events.

Great resource for Bible study

Wonderful explanation of some of the finer points. I really like the fact that Chuck Missler lets you know up front what his views are and why he has them but encourages you do your own study of Gods word.

History

It can be difficult to work around the appearance of “racism”. Mr. Missler has a history of United States military service, and has learned precision, and he enjoys it. So, he very effectively details nuisance we might miss. He also takes the Bible seriously. The Book of Ezekiel is history, and prophecy. If you don’t believe the Bible is true, you’ll struggle. It comes down to not understanding history, the Everlasting Hatred, that Ishmael and Esau have intermarried, and the Abrahamic Covenant. The reader must be aware of who the Midianites are, and the land contract of Israel. It’s not racism the way we define it today. Think more of it as drawing genealogy lines, and family trees.

All that said to say, sit down and listen carefully. And read your Bible. The book of Ezekiel is complicated, it isn’t organized chronologically, and, it isn’t just the history of the Babylonian Captivity. It’s prophetic, and not understanding Israeli history will leave the reader not getting the full benefit of this study.

All told, this is an excellent study. I wish it were more in depth, but personal study is expected. The history has been very helpful, because few scholars link Israeli history to the Medes, the Persians, the Babylonians.

really great commentary

fantastic commentary very informed on a lot of different issues makes also gives very clear description of the original context one racially offensive statement made at the end that was meant to be facetious but I thought was insensitive about God playing the race card but other than that the rest is exactly what I was looking for

Unforgettable life changing study

I had just finished Brother Misslers study in Revelation and this study of Ezekiel helps to tie it in to the rest of the bible. It's much more than a study of the chapter 38 war. It is fascinating!
