Wild Story

Wild story, with a lot of different players. Certain points can be a bit dry, whild others don't even seem real.

Great storyline, interesting.

A well done piece in some interesting characters in the history of KY and the drug world.

Captivating Yet Distracting

I enjoyed the information in the book but the reader is not familiar with the correct pronunciation of many of the Kentucky areas, which is an unfortunate distraction.

Unbelievable

This was a first-rate read about power, privilege, and corruption in Lexington KY. It boggles the mind how easily people can be brought to do evil things and rationalize their behaviors.

Long Winded For My Taste

Struggled to finish this title unfortunately. The overall story arc is interesting, but it is incredibly long winded. The final few chapters pick up a bit, but the ending left me feeling similarly as I did when I finished watching No Country For Old Men (the movie).

At every step of the way I thought I knew where this book was going to go, I could not have been more wrong.

Excellent story! Exposes multiple criminal and governmental conspiracies about which several more books could have been written.

But then I was a student at the University of Kentucky while this was happening. I did not know then that it’s not just Kentucky involved in Government corruption. It’s at its worst on the national level. It was interesting to go back through this again after learning that the majority of our local, state, and national government is corrupt. The only irritation with this is the mispronunciation of Lexington roads, areas, etc and the portrayal of Lexintonians with a South Carolina accent. People that live in Lexington and from Eastern Or Southeastern KY do have an accent, but that’s not it…no offense. I still loved this. John Y Brown the forefather of Democratic Crooks!!

Great story, but more than a few assumptions were made in order to sell some books.

Could make a great miniseries.

So many tangled webs involving so many Kentucky figures. It is a true crime novel and a mystery all in one.
