About this listen

From the number one New York Times best-selling coauthor of Judge & Jury and Lifeguard comes this electrifying solo debut, The Blue Zone.

Kate Raab's life seems almost perfect: her boyfriend, her job, her family...until her father runs into trouble with the law. His only recourse is to testify against his former accomplices in exchange for his family's placement in the Witness Protection Program. But one of them gets cold feet. In a flash, everything Kate can count on is gone.

Now, a year later, her worst fears have materialized: Her father has disappeared into what the WITSEC agency calls "the blue zone", and someone close to him is found brutally murdered. With her family under surveillance, the FBI untrustworthy, and her father's menacing "friends" circling with increasing intensity, Kate sets off to find her father and uncover the secrets someone will kill to keep buried.

Loved this book

Perfect summer read. Gross has co-written with James Patterson previously, but this book is better than those books. I really enjoyed listening to it. It is very entertaining and a perfect beach read or as in my case perfect to make my swimming laps pass by quickly. I look forward to more solo books from him.

Only okay...

Would you try another book from Andrew Gross and/or Ilyana Kadushin?

I'm not sure. The couple in the book kept using the pet name "baby," and that was getting old. I'd like to know the narrator wouldn't make it sound like a teenager again.

If you’ve listened to books by Andrew Gross before, how does this one compare?

This is my first one. I did listen to one he co-wrote with James Patterson and that's why I decided to try him.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The performance was pretty much okay. Just near the end she was getting somewhat whiny.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

probably not

Attention Getter

It was difficult to put this mystery book down. The plot kept you guessing. The author has proven that he can make it solo.

Recommend the book to those who enjoy mysteries and suspense. Insight into the witness protection program is interesting.

Fantastic!

I read the books Andrew Gross wrote with Patterson, I am glad to see he is on his own and getting the full credit he deserves. The Blue Zone is a great book full of suspense and I highly recommend. I am looking forward to Dark Tide.

Great Read

This book kept me guessing all the way through. The plot kept me interested from start to finish. Every time I thought I had it figured out another twist would send me in a different direction. Very entertaining and enjoyable. It might have been a little unbelievable at the end but never the less it kept me on the edge of my seat. I would definitely like to see more from this author.

Good but...

The reader did a fine job. As far as the story goes, it meandered a bit and I don't like my heroines talking like foul-mouthed truck drivers. But all in all, it's a solid story that should keep you engaged (if slightly incredulous).
