About this listen

A Sunday Times and Richard and Judy best seller and the first instalment in Peter May's sensational, million-selling Lewis trilogy.

A brutal killing takes place on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland: a land of harsh beauty and inhabitants of deep-rooted faith.

A Murder
Detective Inspector Fin Macleod is sent from Edinburgh to investigate. For Lewis-born Macleod, the case represents a journey both home and into his past.

A Secret
Something lurks within the close-knit island community. Something sinister.

A Trap
As Fin investigates, old skeletons begin to surface, and soon he, the hunter, becomes the hunted.

Fantastic!!

This book is so amazing! It has been a long time since I’ve raced through a book so quickly, and I enjoyed every bit of it. Don’t hesitate buying it - you will be amazed of how the hours fly by! Narration is also a top notch, the scottish accent of the narrator brings the story even more to life. I LOVED IT!

Exciting story, elegantly constructed plot, and excellent narration.

I haven’t enjoyed a novel as much is this in a long, long time. The author seamlessly weaves the main character’s early life and that of his contemporaries on the island of Lewis with their present day lives without any loss of continuity. Characterisation is deft and three dimensional and the narration is delightful with a soft Scottish accent. The ending (most importantly) is eminently satisfactory. Have immediately downloaded the next one in the three book Lewis Trilogy.
