About this listen

The Bitcoin Enlightenment takes the listener on a journey through the history of money—its rise, its failures, and the hidden forces shaping our financial world. Mexican billionaire and visionary entrepreneur Ricardo Benjamín Salinas Pliego pulls back the curtain on fiat currency, exposing it as a system built on deception, fraud, and endless inflation. Providing a unique perspective on central banking and government financing, he urges listeners to rethink their financial future. With personal insights and hard facts, Ricardo makes the case for Bitcoin as the path to financial freedom, showcasing its power to offer sovereignty, scarcity, and a way to break free from the grip of central banks.

As a Bitcoiner pretty far down the rabbit hole, I haven’t expected too many more big orange-pilling books, but I was happily surprised.

Ricardo Salinas has a wonderful personal history (4th gen sound money family, his dad knew Ludwig Von Mises, he was 16 watching Nixon leave the gold standard) that add a ton of historical credibility and an international context to the Bitcoin puzzle.

Most Bitcoiners have a great grasp 1914-present, but Ricardo extends your mental model back to 16th/17th centuries. Ex: Protestant Reformation from the printing press technology and the Fall of the centralized Church authority as the arbiter of Truth (akin to govt’s position today).. creation of the Bank of England, etc. The book has strong ‘Sovereign Individual’ and ‘Ayn Rand’ implications.

I put this book up there with Bitcoin Standard, Broken Money, Gradually, Then Suddenly, etc. Thank you, Ricardo!
