What Was the Dare?

I really enjoyed this story, but honestly, the wishy-washy, dang near constant 2nd guessing and doom projecting from Brianna was irritating after the 3rd or 4th round. Brianna's refusal to see what was exactly in front of her face, for presuming an inevitable, devasting end was too much after a bit, so I became frustrated. It was understandable, the first time or second, based on her history, but to KEEP going back to the same old refrain was tedious at more than 3/4 of the way through. I think Tanner deserved better, because there was nothing HE did that indicated he wasn't being completely honest, open, and transparent, but clearly Brianna had issues she'd chosen to never deal with which isn't the most healthy way to start a new relationship (even if you presume it will end disastrously... what's the point in even bothering if you can't let go of that notion?). That being said, TANNER was awesome and the way he managed to balance and allay those feelings, and bring everything along at a nice pace so they were both happy and comfortable is what made the book enjoyable.

As far as the audiobook narration; the narrators did a good job, but pronounced Brianna's name differently, which was odd. However, the one thing I noticed specifically because I was listening to the audiobook is that the author severely overuses the phrase "I asked; he asked; she asked; I said, he said, she said." Because when it's being spoken out loud and 60 seconds of dialogue has those phrases 15-20 times one right after the other after the other, it's a LOT. I don't think you'd notice it in a printed or epub book, but it's glaring in the audio format.

Tanner and Brianna

Tanner first meet and fell in love with Brianna at their parents wedding. Brianna fights the attraction due to the social taboo, you can’t be in love with your step-brother. However both were adults when meeting, and are not related by blood. They work through the complicated family dynamics, and mutual attraction. Characters well developed. The narration was well done. Billionaire's Dare!

I don't think the title fits the story so much but I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this story. I love the characters and the plot was engaging, entertaining and passionate. The story is about Brianna and Tanner. Brianna is Jenna's BFF from the previous story while Tanner is friends with Jenna's husband, Caleb. But the real fun fact is Brianna and Tanner are unrelated step siblings. Tanner has crushed on Brianna since they first met, but his ex best friend beat him to the punch. Brianna broke up with her ex and three months later finds out he is engaged to be married. Jenna and her sister find out and decide to take her out. They run into Tanner which is how their second chance starts. The narration was good and really brings the characters and story to life.

Tanner is helping Brianna find out who's trying to sabotage her business deal. They're step-siblings, and she trusts him to help out. He has a singular focus - he's completely in love with her, and wants forever. She drove me nuts, unable to make up her mind about him. In the end... well, lets just say that there's a happy ending. The story and characters are well written and developed. I enjoyed the drama, chemistry and journey. Good read.

Fun read

I really liked this book, and with not starting with book one first, I wasn't lost at all on the characters. I feel like this series could be read as a stand-alone or in order. The step-brother/step-sister relationship didn't seem all that taboo in this series. I couldn't put this book down though. You can't help but to fall in love with the characters of Madison and Garrett. Madison is sweet, hard-working, and has been screwed over. Garrett is sexy, protective, and has Madison in his sights, whatever it takes.

This is the 2nd book in the “The Billionaire’s Series.” I had the opportunity to receive an ARC audible. Brianna and Tanner’s parents are married to each other. The two met at their parent’s wedding. The two are very much attracted to each other and have great chemistry. Their romantic relationship is tabooed because they are stepbrother and stepsister with no physical family ties blood wise. Two years have passed, and Tanner is no longer crushing on Brianna he is definitely still into her and wants her. Brianna is leery because of a past heart break. Tanner is not giving up. He is determined to get Brianna back and never let her go.

Can Tanner and Brianna make their way back into each other’s hearts and have a second chance at romance and get the HEA that they deserve and desire?
