About this listen

The first time I met Brody Easton was in the men's locker room. It was my first interview as a professional sportscaster. The famed quarterback decided to bare all. And by all, I don't mean he told me any of his secrets. No. The arrogant ass decided to drop his towel just as I asked the first question. On camera.

The Super Bowl MVP quickly adopted a new hobby: screwing with me. When I pushed back, he shifted from wanting to screw with me to wanting to screw me. But I don't date players. And it's not because I'm one of the few women working in the world of professional football. I'd date an athlete. It's the other kind of player I don't date. You know the type. Good looking, strong, cocky, always looking to get laid.

Brody Easton was the ultimate player. Every woman wanted to be the one to change him. But the truth was, all he needed was a girl worth changing for. Turned out I was that girl. Simple, right? Let's face it. It never is.

There's a story between once upon a time and happily ever after...and this one is ours.

Contains mature themes.

Not expected twist

I enjoyed both voices and wasn't expecting the twist in the story. I would highly recommend this book!

Not what I expected, but exactly what I wanted

I've read a lot of books and have had books that I've enjoyed, but never have I had a book catch my attention the way this one did. I struggled to listen because I knew what I wanted to have happen and wasn't sure where Vi was going with it, yet I couldn't stop myself because I was so engrossed. This is a wonderful story that will have you on the edge of your seat right to the end.

Another wonderful story from Vi

Loved this book, not just the couple falling in love. There's so much to each of pasta. Brody is a sweetheart in how he looks after every one and what each of them went through is so totally real of what happens in life and living the dream. To have a friend like Indie would be awesome. Love the friends that Vi creates in her stories ❣️

Loved Mackenzie's narration but had to cringe when Sean read Delilah or the female parts.

Touchdown

This was an unexpected touchdown for me! I really enjoyed the story itself, but the narration gives it the 2 point conversion for me! Great work!!!

Over coming past loves

This book was somewhat of a romantic comedy with more emotional elements towards the last part of the book. I actually think it might have been more cute and endearing if I would have read it. Actually, by the first third of the book, I almost stop listening. The narrator's were not the worst that I've heard, but definitely struggled to really hit key points with the correct dramatics for the situation. I'm not really sure. Fortunately, I stuck with the story, because when the third character of Willow was introduced to the plot, got so much more interesting. I think the story would have been so much more rich if there was real emotional dialog from Brody dealing with Willow. I've listened to other book, such as "Pucked Off, by Helena Hunting where there is a strong dialog scene between the Ex to bring real closer. In This book, it's just mentioned at the end and glossed over. Based on the pain that Brody dealt with from his past relationship with Willow, it might have been nice to hear his conversation with her. Rather the listener just has to accept that Brody was emotionally and physically loyal. I think this added scene adds more demsion to the plight of all characters involved because this helps show how truly a character has moved on and forces other characters to accept that they cannot keep interfering in the current relationship and that it's now time for them to focus on their future rather than their past. As far as the sizzle rating, it was bit overrated. Even though I like VI keeland's books, they don't pack the same punch as when she co writes with Penelope Ward., such as "Dear Bridget," which is awesome. 5 stars all the way. if your apart of the new romance package, "Baller" so worth it. I'm not sure I could say it is worth a full price purchase. Story B Narrators B-.

The pairing of voices is crucial!!

I loved this story; however the male voice (Sean Crisden) was no not right! He was Southern, I think (I’m from the South) although the character wasn’t from the south; but there was nothing sexy about his voice or even hyper masculine. Mackenzie Cartwright was spot on and I’m so glad she had the majority of the story to tell.

Performance Ruined It

I’m not big on writing reviews, but I feel compelled to add my opinion. Vi Keeland wrote a promising story, but the narration absolutely ruined it. Cartwright had zero emotion and her pacing was painful.

Loved it!!!

I absolutely LOVED Brody & Delilah’s story. It was so much more than a love story. These two characters already have experienced heartache. Learning about their past is heartbreaking. I was a bit worried when someone from Brodys past comes back, thank God It wasn’t what it seemed. Loved the ending so swoon.

Audio was perfect!🙌🏻
