Acerca de esta escucha

"Narrator Rosalie Craig is especially adept at providing varying voices to assist the listener in identifying characters."–AudioFile Magazine

This program is read by London Evening Standard Award-winning actor Rosalie Craig, who also plays Virginia in Netflix's 1899.

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Whisper Man and The Shadows comes a dark, suspenseful new thriller about the mysteries of fate, the unbreakable bond of siblings, and a notorious serial killer who was said to know the future.

Growing up in a beautiful house in the English countryside, Katie Shaw lived a charmed life. At the cusp of graduation, she had big dreams, a devoted boyfriend, and a little brother she protected fiercely. Until the day a violent stranger changed the fate of her family forever.

Years later, still unable to live down the guilt surrounding what happened to her brother, Chris, and now with a child of her own to protect, Katie struggles to separate the real threats from the imagined. Then she gets the phone call: Chris has gone missing and needs his big sister once more.

Meanwhile, Detective Laurence Page is facing a particularly gruesome crime. A distinguished professor of fate and free will has been brutally murdered just hours after firing his staff. All the leads point back to two old cases: the gruesome attack on teenager Christopher Shaw, and the despicable crimes of a notorious serial killer who, legend had it, could see the future.

A lot of moving parts, but worth it. Listening on Audible, I had a bit of trouble following the story at times w all of the different players and places in time, mixed w the narrator’s accent. But the book has cool twists and ends nicely.

He’s done it again! Absolutely loved this book. Some of the information can be hard to follow at times, but if you stick with it to the end and look back, you’ll see an amazingly detailed story that was hinted at from moment one. Everything is connected under the surface! Can’t wait to see what comes next!

Masterful!

Well written, and read.
This is the quickest I have made it through an audiobook. The story is on the edge, and keeps you wondering. I got a little confused with the characters at first, but love how it all intertwined.
Alex North is by far one of my favorite authors.

This was my first title by this author and I have to say it wasn’t easy to follow. That’s not to say it wasn’t an ok story, I wanted to know how it ended, but at times I found it to be very confusing. Maybe that’s just me but this one didn’t grip me.

"Alex North's 'The Angel Maker' is an absolute masterpiece of psychological suspense that grips you from the very first page and refuses to let go. With stunning prose and intricate plotting, North delivers a chilling tale that will haunt readers long after they've turned the final page.

Set in a small English village, the story revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a young boy and the dark secrets that lurk beneath the surface of the seemingly idyllic community. As the investigation unfolds, North expertly weaves together multiple narrative threads, keeping readers guessing until the shocking climax.

What truly sets 'The Angel Maker' apart is North's skillful characterization. Each character is flawlessly drawn, with their own fears, desires, and secrets that add depth and complexity to the narrative. From the troubled detective grappling with his own demons to the enigmatic stranger with a haunting past, every character feels fully realized and utterly compelling.

But perhaps the most chilling aspect of 'The Angel Maker' is the sense of creeping dread that permeates every page. North expertly builds tension with each twist and turn, leading readers down a dark and twisted path towards an unforgettable finale. The atmosphere is palpable, with the eerie setting adding to the sense of unease that lingers throughout the novel.

North's prose is as haunting as it is beautiful, with vivid descriptions that bring the village and its inhabitants to life. His writing is atmospheric and evocative, drawing readers into a world where nothing is as it seems and danger lurks around every corner.

In 'The Angel Maker,' Alex North has crafted a chilling masterpiece that will leave readers breathless. Gripping, atmospheric, and utterly unputdownable, this is psychological suspense at its finest. Whether you're a fan of the genre or simply love a good thriller, 'The Angel Maker' is not to be missed. Prepare to be mesmerized, terrified, and utterly enthralled."

someone else mentioned this, but I'm going to echo it. I've really enjoyed this authors others works so I was excited to get into this. the story premise was interesting, but felt a little rushed and like there were things missing. the whole story felt like it should have been at least a couple hours longer so you could get a better sense of everything/all the characters. and the constant switching back and forth between characters first and last names made it kinda hard to follow. overall it was fine, but I hope his next work will be more flushed out like his previous books.

Felt incomplete
