About this listen

All androids are not alike. Especially if they're teenagers...

By the 2070s, most humans have interacted with androids in either a servile or sexual relationship. Dr. Bryan Galloway wants to tip the scales. So, he’s engineered two sisters who not only share a synthetic form of DNA, but a sentience and individualism no android has enjoyed before.

Like human teens, the android sisters develop not only by nature but by nurture. Nyx, the red-eyed robot, finds life to be a journey you experience a step at a time. For Dayna, the violet-orbed android, life is a game to be won through emulation and manipulation. But Nyx’s journey is a whole lot less passive than she imagined, especially when she suffers bouts of what humans call PTSD.

As Nyx becomes convinced her programming is unable to separate past from present and reality from virtual experience, she begins to doubt her creator Bryan Galloway and his sudden disappearance from her life now that she faces school, boys, and the pressure of planning a future in a still dominated human population.

Is Nyx defective or, maybe, is this what it's really like to grow up as a human female? Perhaps, there is a third alternative she and her sister know nothing about...

What an original spin on androids

I have read many books from Gary Starta And he writes pretty awesome books, but this one I think it made me the most. I thoroughly enjoyed this book Gary start to take sci-fi to new dimensions with old ideas. It’s as if he gets a faded painting re-finishes it and it still the same paining but there’s a new twist on it that’s just fabulous. I can’t say enough about this book you can read the summary And just know if you’re looking for a sci-fi book that’s not the same old trope you found it. The narrator also I thought she did a wonderful job I loved her voice.

My children were so engrossed in this book they stopped playing their games. Every time we got in the car they wanted it on. Thanks to the author of this audio series.

This was a fascinating, entertaining book from beginning to end. The two main characters were interesting to read about and now look forward to part two and the rest of the series.

A unique AI story

Starta pens a wonderfully unique story in The Android Sisters. I always read what Starta writes, with no expectations except that his stories are that good. I enjoyed both reading, and listening to his story. I was not disappointed in this story as well. The Android Sisters are Dayna and Nyx, artificially created but are so human-like. Galloway is their creator. It's a futuristic story that is worth the listen, as I love the author's uniqueness in his imagination. I liked the evolution of the sisters, though they were androids, they indeed were able to grow and had a lot of depth, almost human. "Nyx couldn’t think anymore. Her brain seemed flooded by water and she was losing consciousness, quickly. And in one last desperate move, she commanded her CPU to engage in sleep mode." The narration never lets the reader forget they were artificial, but also that they were beings as well. I really enjoyed listening to this story, and I listened to it from beginning to end in one sitting. I look forward to reading and listening to more stories by this author.

Interesting story about teenage androids

Full disclosure: I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Interesting premise where teenage androids are self aware and trying to fit into society. But face hate and greed, in addition to the social anxiety's of being a teenager and an android. Overall, I enjoyed the book. The narrator was clear in her performance, but was a little too dry for my tastes. She sounded a bit robotic. This was my first book from this narrator.

A good start

The story is that of two sister who are made more human like than any android before. This is the story of how society and the two sisters deal with being teenagers and the first of their kind. Trying to find themselves and what they would like to be. The first book in a series is always about introducing characters. The story starts out slow and you don't really get a good feeling for the book until you get closer to the end. I found it interesting and will have to look out for the next volume. The narrator does a good job with the characters and the story.

This is my first book by Gary Starta and I got it free.

Good Android story

This is the start of a good series with Androids, it was a quick fun read. With great narration that brought the story to life.

Audible did not have chapter titles for this title at the time of this review.

This title was provided free for review, however, this is my honest thoughts and review.
