About this listen

By the year 2084, after decades of ever-increasing political infighting, tensions have reached the boiling point in the United States. Politicians and pundits continue to one-up each other and seek ratings by generating the latest outrage. Years of hostile words has finally turned into actions as a series of tragic events tear the country in two.

America in 2084 is managed primarily as three districts. The creation of the districts was part of a national compromise to reorder society after the financial system could no longer support the federal debt. The novel follows characters on both sides of the conflict, similar to The Killer Angels and A Game of Thrones, to honestly share the contrasting motivations, hopes, and fears which is almost impossible to find today from any one source. Echoes from American history and haunting recycled characters from the Bible anchor a novel exploring 2019 issues set in an age of advanced artificial intelligence and virtual reality.

Politics and technology in America are dangerously progressing to a fire triangle of social justice, religion, and technology. Unless tangible change is realized, we are on a tragic crash course toward a second civil war. The nation imploding is a testament to previous generations choosing to be divided.
