Acerca de esta escucha

Max Remus couldn't care less about finding his mate—unlike the rest of his fate-obsessed pack. He totally prefers hanging with his bestie, eating his dad's steak sandwiches, and drawing in his trusty sketchbook. But all that is about to change at the Blue Moon Festival—a summer camp where Elite Pack wolves go to find their mates. The festival is a rite of passage for every teen werewolf, and this year's festival will be one to howl home about. The alpha's son, Jasper Apollo, is attending for the first time. When Max finds himself inexplicably linked with the exceptionally handsome but totally jerk-faced heir, he's forced to grapple with the unexpected feelings clawing at his soul.

If Max rejects his destiny, will fate's bite be worse than its bark?

Netflix's Young Royals meets Teen Wolf—the first instalment in a thrilling new series, The Alpha's Son is a heart-wrenching young adult, wolf shifter romance, full of yearning, comedy, and adventure.

Start listening now! And may the Moon Gods light the path between souls.

i loved it but....

i loved this story ot pulled at allu heart strings and i could feel the emotions of the main character and vibe with him. but, the ending leaves me wanting more like jaspers pov to understand why acts the way he does toward max and the battle inside him. i think a sequel or series would tie up all the loose ends and finally give max and jasper the ending they deserve being together publicly especially sine the alpha has approved of them together.

The Ending

The book wasn’t bad, but the ending seemed like the end of a soap opera, where you are tempted with something the whole book, just to find out that you’re not really getting anywhere by the end of it.

Dad gave them the ok but the idiot still said no

why can't they just end up together, was that hard for you to write? sometimes a good read is defined by hardship that ends up in a good thing. but no even with dads blessing jasper still days no. fuck this

Dang it!

I was expecting a predictable story. I wasn't expecting the twists and turns that grabbed my interest and hold me as I eagerly await book two.

Fantastic Book

I was out looking for a good LBGTQ+ book and came across this book. Completely fell in love with the story. The emotional roller coaster I went through and I could NOT stop listening. I highly recommend.

Disappointing Ending

I was hooked into this book until the last scene. The ending was too abrupt and Max’s passive reaction is not realistic.

Amazing book

As a gay guy, I can relate to this so hard. It touched my soul. I actually cried a few times. I absolutely loved this book.

Needs Some Polish, but Not Bad

Maybe it's because I listened to it versus reading it but my God are the reviews here critical. Was this the best YA story I've read? Absolutely not. Was it an easy to read story with an easily digestible plot? 100%

This story has its flaws for sure. Jasper's moodiness became oppressive, and Max turning into a love sick fool after screaming about not wanting a mate warrants a cooked eyebrow or two but those seem like insignificant flaws.

The characters are definitely one dimensional, I'll give it that. There's no real growth for any of them Aiyesha's(?) story is confusing because, if she's a prima ballerina, I can't imagine how much time she'd have to go gallavanting around acting like a regular teen. Also, aren't ballerinas diets crazy strict? And I can also agree that Katie and Max's friendship is a bit odd, especially with how much Katie pushes Max about being mates. It seems kind of forced and I don't know about others, but I don't k ow how comfortable I'd be around someone constantly pushing us to be more and then suddenly being like ah nope, nvm, just because they found their "one."

Also, the festival took place at the end of August but they're still not back to school after a few weeks? Most schools in the US start no later than the day after labor day so the timeline doesn't seem to match up. And then there's going to school. It feels like a lot happens during the school year and it's just overlooked. Like the drive to and from Pittsburgh? Was this during the weekend or some random Tuesday night? And then his parents were just like oh, okay, it's fine because you're with the alphas son? That seemed odd, especially considering what kind of relationship he seems to have with them.

As for it being gay, honestly this book was REFRESHING for me. Trust me, I love living in my little gay fantasy novel bubble, where being LGBTQIA+ is totally normal, and having a potentionally poly relationshi is a-okay, and everyone is just hunky dory with it, but that's not reality. For me it was nice to see some potential kickback. It was refreshing to have a character that was like "I don't think I'm gay but like... Maybe I am?" The only thing being that they never explored this. They never mentioned any other potential attraction to other guys. It was truly like the "Moon God's said it's so so it must be." I think if it's going to be a coming out story there needs to be a lot more focus in that department. But yeah, it was kind of nice to have a story where there's inner turmoil over suddenly realizing they may be in love with the same sex. In a very heteronormative world, I have zero problems reading stories through a heteronormative lense without constantly seeing seeing words like "gay," "bi," "pan," etc. For me I'm just excited to see queer media even if it's not in my face queer.

As for the Villan, I will say it took a turn I wasn't expecting. I think the author did a phenomenal job with the tension, much better than a lot of these novels when it comes to action sequences, and I would have never expected Ellenore to be the one. For those who say she is reminiscent of the sheep from Zootopia, her voice in the audio recording would absolutely double down on that and now that I've read it, I won't be able to get that image out of my head.

I really hate how it ended, it didn't leave me feeling great, but when book two comes out I'll be reading it because I really need the boys to find happy endings, and to hopefully see growth both from the writer and the characters she created.
