About this listen

Mateo was raised to be Alpha of his pack. Taught how to lead, learned about mates, and when he was old enough, given the freedom to make changes he saw fit. The one thing he never imagined was that his mate would be a man.

Brick has known that Mateo was the one for him since he’d watched Mateo start dating his sister in high school. Younger than the Alpha, Brick always assumed Mateo would realize they were mates and come out to the pack. He left for college to give him time, but nothing changed. Mateo is still living life with blinders on, but when Brick is involved in a horrible accident, will Mateo finally realize his true feelings?

The Alpha’s Forbidden Mate is the third in an all new series about men who may not be brothers by blood but are brothers of the heart. And the realization that regardless of how the Matthews siblings have been raised, sometimes you have to follow your heart, even if it's leading you down the hardest path.

This is a M/M novella.

Um, it was okay

I don't do very well with short books, I like at least 300- 400 pages for a start. Being that it is a shorter book, I know that you have to try to cram everything in to make it enjoyable. To me the Alpha, was not very alpha. I think Brick would have made a better Alpha. The narration, and maybe it's the way the author wanted it, but it seemed to be very dramatic. Overall for me, it's an okay book.

The Alpha's Forbidden Mate

Good characters and the story is short but it contains a lot of action and intrigue from start to end

So Cheesy It's Funny

It was pretty cheesy and would have stopped listening if it wasn't so bad that it was funny. The narrator was a big part of the terribleness. The narration reminds of the Ben Herr Visine commercials from like 20 years ago so monotonous for most of the book.

if it wasn't part of my Audible Escape membership, I would have requested a refund.

Good Read

The Alpha's Forbidden Mate (Brothers of the Heart #3) was a great read by D.J. Bryce. Mateo was raised to be the Alpha of his pack. He was taught to lead, learned about mates and given the freedom to make changes when he was old enough. He never imagined his mate would be a man. Brick knew that Mateo was his mate ever since Mateo started dating his sister. I enjoyed this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Emotional, angsty and a bit suspenseful!

The final book in the Brothers of the Heart series, The Alpha’s Forbidden Mate by D.J. Bryce, also known as one of my authors, Bethany Lopez, gives us the story of Mateo, the Alpha of the Wolf pack and Brick Matthews, the last single Matthews sibling. Who would have thought he would be destined to be mated to the Alpha?

Brick as known Mateo was his mate since the day they met, when Mateo was dating his sister. But as the Alpha, Mateo struggled with what that meant and what he owed his pack. Yet he could not deny what he shared with Brick. But can Mateo fight his feelings after Brick is involved in an accident? Mateo had and Brick had such a strong connection.

Narrated by La Petite Mort, The Alpha’s Forbidden Mate, by DJ Bryce (Bethany Lopez) was emotional, angsty, a bit suspenseful and had an absolutely great ending! The narrator did an amazing job pulling me into the story. The Brothers of the Heart series were quick and steamy reads with great characters.

Happy listening!
