About this listen
So Wendy abandons her career in the oldest profession for a new job: spy! Going underground as "Red Cloud," she infiltrates the inner circle around vicious Jake Bloom, the greediest outlaw in the sector. "Red" risks her life to avenge her father and end a reign of terror engulfing the whole quadrant.
Red blasts headlong into a tight orbit of action, caught in a terrifying nebula of deception, sex, robbery, extortion, torture, mass murder, and even (dare we say it?) insurance fraud.
Radio Repertory Company's latest production pullsno punches. Taut writing with tongue in cheek, splendid performances and superb production, all wrapped up in a magnificent original score.
This audio is for teen to adult audiences, due tosome sexual references and suggestive ideas.©2004 Radio Repertory Company of America (P)2004 Radio Repertory Company of AmericaCritic reviews
"Traci Elizabeth Lords is luxurious as Red Cloud, a sexy, sci-fi spy battling pirates, power-hungry politicians and personal demons on the tempting yet treacherous planet Chromius." (Sci Fi Magazine)
"Lords proves she isn't just a movie/TV actress anymore. She conveys a new dimension to her career with this role and it sounds like she is having too much fun doing it." (AudioWorld)

Furiously fast and funny
Great characters, especially Lords as Wendy McCloud/Red Cloud. The plot was fast paced if shallow, and the special effects were hilarious, especially the random news reports and phone calls that spanned light years without roaming charges. Definitely not appropriate for teenagers or younger, given all of the casual sex and random violence.

lots of laughs and fun
Really enjoyed this one...my kind of humor. Wish it could have been longer as the time flew.
Talented cast with a cool story line.

Comedy in Play Was Most Enjoyable, Plus Good Cast.
I'm a fan for Big Finish Productions, and Seeing Ear Theatre's work so was looking for some other good audio dramas to listen to. Based off of past purchases, Audible's site kept recommending play made by this company, the Radio Repertory Company of America.
I also made it through the eighties and was a huge fan of Brinke Stevens (Bad Girl From Mars, Slave Girls from Beyond Infinity, among other films) and what adolescent teenager wasn't a fan of Traci Lord's films back in the day? So... due to the cast in this audio it trumped this company's other plays that I was browsing through... notably one of the Anne Manx plays such as Anne Manx in Lives of the Cat.
The play was entertaining. While the effects were not as high as Big Finish or Seeing Ear Theatre, the acting was there. I had expected more of a sci-fi story based off of the description but really it was just a girl out for revenge. Red Cloud (Traci Lords) wants to find out her father's killer. If it didn't have planets mentioned in this, the setting could have been anywhere. So, sci-fi-wise, I wouldn't base your purchase on it. More of a who-dun-it really with a dash of sci-fi.
Brinke Stevens' role was prominent but not as prominent as I had hoped. All the other actors also did a fine job, especially the lead space pirate.
One of the most enjoyable areas I found about this was the tongue in cheek, what some may call cheesy, comedy. The in-jokes, and basic jokes throughout the play I found carried the play.
Overall good stuff. I won't hesitate to try out that Anne Manx series in the future.
