About this listen

During an intimate dinner party, a cat burglar breaks into the home of A-list actor Marcus Dowling. When his wife walks in on the thief, the situation quickly teeters out of control, leaving an empty safe and a lifeless body.

The same night, a woman and her infant child are ruthlessly gunned down in an abandoned garage. The killer hasn't left a shred of evidence, except for a foreboding and cryptic message: WCF, the letters written in blood-red letters.

With two elusive criminals on the loose, Detective Lindsay Boxer calls on the Women's Murder Club to help her stop them before they continue their spree. But before they can break either case, the Lipstick Killer changes his act and demands a ransom--not for a single victim, but for all of San Francisco. Lindsay puts her own life on the line--but will it be enough to save the city from this deranged killer?

Really Good Storyline

I am happy to be able to write a positive review, finally, for a recently written Patterson book. I have felt lately that these collaborative books have been really lacking, but not this one. This story is true to the women's stories of the past, with lots of mystery and a dash of romance. I love this narrator, she truly brings the women's voices to life. If you have enjoyed the series in the past you will like this book too.

The Ninth Judgment: a Women's Murder Club Mystery

This series is numerically numbered, so this is the ninth one. A much better book than some in this series, which goes up and down in quality. All four women are involved as usual in solving the mystery. Carolyn McCormick narrates these books very well. I can't imagine anyone else doing it as well, but then she has narrated all of them. Two cases under investigation as usual: one involves the killing of a woman while her jewels are being stolen by a cat burglar, known as "Hello Kitty" but Kitty didn't do it. The second case involves a psychopath going around SanFrancisco randomly killing women and babies.

Best yet of the WMC.

I'm a little behind on my reviews, but this was the best yet of The Womens Murder Club. It was very sad at times...but it never slowed. I listened to it straight thru. I usually listen to an hour each night before I fall asleep, but this one I couldn't stop. I had to know the ending.
