A Gentleman in Moscow recounts the story of Count Alexander Rostov. In 1922, on the heels of the Russian Revolution, the count is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal and sentenced to permanent house arrest in Moscow's grand Hotel Metropol. Good intervieq
Very useful interview. It helped me understand how Towles approached writing one of my favorite novels and satisfactorily answered the criticisms about its not being historically accurate.
The recording was not always clear, but everything was understandable.

You can hardly hear it
I was excited to hear this after I finished A Gentleman In Moscow but it sounds like the recorder was 20' away from the speakers and I couldn't hear most of it. I'll have to dig out the headphones and crank up the volume I guess.

poor audio
Audio captured by a person in the back of large room. Can barely hear. Very disappointing. Also, the author and interviewer refused to talk about certain details for fear of spoiling the story!? It's a book club!
