About this listen

Paramedic Stacey Durham has an idyllic life: her dream job, a beautiful house, and a devoted husband. Until her car is found abandoned and covered in her blood.

Detective Ella Marconi knows information is key in the first twenty-four hours, questioning frantic husband James, jealous sister Marie, and Rowan, the colleague who keeps turning up in all the wrong places.

Just as Ella starts to piece together the clues, a shocking message arrives for James: You won't see her again if you don't tell the truth.

As she sifts through the lies, Ella's relationship with Dr Callum McLennan is under siege, and she doesn't know if it can survive the overenthusiasm of her family or the blind hatred of his mother.

With the investigation hitting dead ends and new threats being made, Ella must uncover the truths buried beneath the perfect façade before the case goes from missing person to murder.

The Best One

Story was great. Much less swearing. Happy Ending. Talented writer. Just wished we heard more from Ella's parents. Caroline Lee SUPERB. A Book 9 would have been awesome!!!

Alwsys Good value story and narration

Katherine always tells a really great story. With the emotion, humour and realness all great authors can produce. Never disappointed. And brilliantly narrated, as always too. Loved it.

The end is sad in many ways

Fantastic series, but this last book was weak with a very confusing story line. And, and extreme number of redundant actions. Very sad considering it was the finale to the series.

Another easy read

Had the plot of this one figured out right away, but as it went on I enjoyed the characters, the story, and Caroline Lee's narration. Especially Caroline Lee's narration. I could listen to her read a phone book. There's never any doubt about which character is speaking.

the end?

I have loved the whole series and am very sad to have it end. Having said that maybe it was time - this was not as good as any of her others.

Best one yet

I could not stop listening…one of the characters really frustrated me but that’s because the author really gets me involved. I sincerely hope another Ella Marconi book is in the works . I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series !
Caroline Lee makes every character come to life . She is my favorite narrator. Ty audible
