Klar, dass er an einem Wettbewerb teilnimmt, dessen fünf beste Absolventen eine Ausbildung zum Krieger machen dürfen. Doch als hätte er mit einem gezähmten Babyschleim, einer geheimnisvollen Mitschülerin und neuen Mitkonkurrenten, die vor keinen Fiesheiten zurückschrecken, um den Wettkampf zu gewinnen, nicht schon alle Hände voll zu tun, wächst auch der Wald der Monster jenseits der Festungsmauern immer weiter an das Dorf heran ... vielleicht bleibt gar keine Zeit mehr, das Ende der Ausbildung abzuwarten ...
