About this listen

There was something heavy in the bag. SOMETHING DEAD.

There was no escaping the heat and humidity. Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Agent Danny Carlisle sat in her car, the air conditioner running. It was not the Florida-like weather on this Minnesota morning that was keeping her in her car. It was not the piles of garbage that lined the streets, remnants of a just-ended strike, although the odor that hung in the air was part of it. What made Danny hesitate was a specific bag of garbage to her right, inside a tent, the contents of which was about to ruin her day.

But what Danny didn’t know as she procrastinated, was that the sweltering weather would soon be gone. What she didn’t know was that what awaited her inside the tent would be gruesome beyond her imagination, an almost unimaginable display of cruelty. What she didn’t know was that as much as this would challenge her senses, it would pale in comparison to other events that were about to change her life.

Bad AI reading

Hated AI, liked author’s story. AI mispronounces many words, and inflection of sentences often makes no sense.

Interesting Ending

I liked the story line, but not the virtual voice. The book has a nice twist. I just wish the narrator would have been an actual person.

Couldn’t finish, Hated cadence performance. Shame because I love all other CE Nelson recordings.

I love CE Nelson’s work, he’s an awesome writer. Interesting plots, humorous, keeps you interested to the end, and then leaves you wanting more. Sorry to say, I couldn’t finish this Audible, the voice was drab.

The narrator

This is the second book I have listened to by this author. The story is good but the virtual voice is awful. The cadence is all wrong and so is the emphasis. I plan on not listening to anymore virtually read books!

nothing

had a good voice, but many untimely (at the wrong time) inflections. easy enough to follow the story though. if it had been a human narrating it would been a higher score.

AI reading ruins it.

Stop AI generated reading. Humans change tone, inflection and gender inflections that AI can’t do.

Sadly I won’t listen to any more of these due to AI readings.

Bad “narration.”

The artificial “narration” didn’t match the appropriate expression. It was flat to the point that is was distracting.

Good story

The AI narrator is horrible. Inflections are wrong, No changes in voices of the characters, just bad. Lack of humanity.
