About this listen

"Welcome to the Pelaran Alliance...."

With those simple words, the Guardian spacecraft openly revealed itself to humanity, heralding a new chapter in its 500-year-long mission to cultivate our world. Earth's population must now make its first planet-wide decision - join the most powerful alliance in our galaxy or chart our own course, deciding for ourselves which civilizations are worthy of our trust. Will we be the first world to decline the Pelarans' invitation, or does their offer come with an implied threat?

Aboard Terran Fleet Command's flagship, TFS Navajo, Admiral Kevin Patterson assembles his formidable but untested forces in hopes of defending the Earth. Knowing that an attack is imminent, he must risk everything in hopes of finding his enemy and taking the initiative.

Returning from TFC's first battle, Captain Tom Prescott learns that his frigate, TFS Ingenuity, is more heavily damaged than expected. Now he must race against time to prepare a new ship, then execute a daring mission to save Earth's last and best hope of avoiding full-scale interstellar war.

TFS Fleet Series

Outstanding military scify series in the vain of Lost Fleet. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys military oriented science fiction. Will start the third installment right away!

Interesting but abrupt endings

A generally good story but slow at times with little development of the plot. Instead there are abrupt movements with little understanding of a more realistic time sense. The overall effect is to have a chaotic plot with things developing so fast it is unrealistic.

Not bad - but not worth the money

This was an entertaining read. A bit on the short side at 7 hours, but the real problem for me was the $7.49 price, and that's WITH Kindle Unlimited. Even for reasonably decent SciFi, even if rather fantastical and unrealistic SciFi, $7.49 strikes me as a bit high, and I don't intend to continue through the series since they're all priced that way. There are too many and much more worthwhile books available for the $9.50 credits.

Wonderful. These are slow but grow on you.

Very good detailed work. The books feel familiar to our world and show a world coming to the brink of military capability in space. It is not the epic science fiction of the far future but of the more near future as Earth dips it's goes into space and battle.

Good Saga but seems like strange endings.

Any additional comments?

Lots of technical detail, my mind starts to wander because of this sometimes. Still a good book, really the major downside I see is it seems like weird stopping points at the end of the first book and this one.

second in series on par

The series continues to be in the upper percentile for military space sci-fi. To many series are call military space operas and are inconsistent at best militarily. this series has tactics and characters that are believable. I'm not a navy guys and dont know much about actual naval tactics but at least the characters dont fo anything obviously stupid tactically.

Great story BUT DON'T BUY IT

Despite the great story line and the professional, well done performance I CAN'T recommend this TV series...I mean book. The author and/or publisher took 1 1/2 books and split it into 3. What was the motivation. Greed? I certainly can't know, but I DO NOT LIKE IT, and don't appreciate it. So despite the overall rating I can not recommend this book it the series unless you have lots of money and or credits

Enjoyable space action but with an odd break point

I quite enjoyed this book and loved the narration.

It's a good and interesting story -- good action, interesting plot, etc.
The discussion of the technology is interesting, relevant, and not too overwhelming.

The characters aren't very well-developed, and are somewhat stereotypical, but the story is told from multiple points of view so that's less critical.

My biggest complaint was that ended quite abruptly and in the middle of the action. It's clearly set for a sequel, but it seems they could have picked a different break point.

Not the strongest writing but good story.

The author tends to reuse a lot of phrases. The hair stands up on the back of every characters neck at some point. It's a sign of someone who isn't a terribly strong writer. On the upside the story while fairly generic is good and kept me interested. On the downside it's a power fantasy for the human race and it's quickly getting to the point where it seems like humanity suddenly goes from combustion engine to dominant force in the galaxy.

There just isn't much concern for any of the main characters because they all see to have a thick blanket of plot armor. Still if you want something that's on the included books list it's a good one. The rest of the series is not on the included plus membership list and I can't see myself buying them or using a token.
