About this listen
A routine tax fraud investigation. A strange lab. A mysterious button.
He shouldn’t have pushed the button. But Alfred Favero, senior analyst with the IRS, pushed the button. And now he’s 67 million years in the past, stranded out of time with a coworker who hates him and a bunch of tax cheats. Oh, and then there’s the other inhabitants of his prehistoric home: the dinosaurs that want to make a meal of him. Things couldn’t get worse.
Until a mysterious visitor from an uncertain future shows up with murder on his mind.

Simon is the best delivery boy that Mr Edwards’s restaurant has ever had. He’s on time every time, and he’s gotten nothing but good reviews. But he needs more money. His mother’s medical treatment won’t pay for itself, and his father is already working three jobs to try to make ends meet. But it might just be his lucky day: Mr. Edwards has another job for him. It’s more delivery work, but not the usual kind. You might even say that it’s out of this world. Oh well. Beggars can’t be choosers, and the pay is fantastic.

Story
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Dr. Tyson Klein is a quantum physicist who has dedicated his entire life to his research. At CERN, he analyses data generated by the Large Hadron Collider, the world's biggest and most powerful particle accelerator. Now, Ty believes he's found a pattern in its output. It looks like an organised data stream, being broadcast over what he calls a quantum radio. Could it be a signal from another universe? A message sent from the future? Or something else entirely?

What’s to be done about a jaywalking moose? A bear caught breaking and entering? A murderous tree? Three hundred years ago, animals that broke the law would be assigned legal representation and put on trial. These days, as New York Times best-selling author Mary Roach discovers, the answers are best found not in jurisprudence but in science: the curious science of human-wildlife conflict, a discipline at the crossroads of human behavior and wildlife biology.

Story
Ferryman Charlie Dawson saves dead people - somebody has to convince them to move on to the afterlife, after all. Having never failed a single assignment, he's acquired a reputation for success that's as legendary as it is unwanted. It turns out that serving as a Ferryman is causing Charlie to slowly lose his mind. Deemed too valuable by the Ferryman Institute to be let go and too stubborn to just give up in his own right, Charlie's pretty much abandoned all hope of escaping his grim existence. Or he had, anyway, until he saved Alice Spiegel.

This is Going to be a Great Series
The author is definitely onto some good with this series. Alfred a taxman is funny and likable with his quirks and idiosyncrasies. The narrator is a perfect fit and does a top notch job. The story is part Jurassic Park with time travel. But it is definitely original and was a blast to listen to.

Entertaining and fun read.
I must preface this review by saying that I don't read sci-fi. I got a free code to use on an assortment of sci-fi/fantasy audiobooks. I picked this one strictly based on the title (I do tax returns).
I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were likable, the story wasn't so far-fetched that I felt like rolling my eyes, and, best if all, Rachel Ford is an excellent writer who uses proper grammar and good sentence structures.
For those who care about the use of profanity, there were very few instances of it. In fact, the main character makes a point of not using profanity when he "swears"!
The reader did a pretty good job. He was a little slow.for my taste, but Audible has a fix for that, so I just adjusted the speed to 1.25 and then it was perfect.
Overall, I was hoping for a little more technical IRS involvement, but that's just me. This book was a little gem and I highly recommend it. Even if this is out if your usual genre, you might be happily surprised and discover a new author to follow.

Death and Taxes!
Engaging story and great narration!
This one was fun! A nerdy taxman is determined to pursue an evil corporation that is trying to dodge its fiscal responsibilities. Through his pursuit of justice he mistakenly gets himself and his lovely coworker transported back in time!?
I am looking forward to the next book in the series!

There Is No Escape From The Taxman
This is a weird book, but I really liked it. Alfred Favero, senior analyst with the IRS, comes across as a clueless nerd, at first. I never thought I would like him, but some how he evolved or I did and I found sympathy for him and his plight. I really liked the female lead, Nancy. She was smart and competent. There were not as many dinosaurs as I expected or as much zipping around time, but what there was I found interesting. Try the book and enjoy the romp through 67 million years ago.
John Carter Aimone was a great narrator.

Dinosaurs live once more
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Loved the time travel aspect of this book. It was interesting to follow along with the IRS agents as they get involved in the story line. And how they got involved with the time travel and the time when the t rex walked the earth. Liked what happened with the bad guy but you will have to read it for yourself.

Good book, narration isn't the best
The storyline is an interesting take on a time travel story. Two IRS employees stumble into the past while investigating a possible tax fraud case. Once they get there, they have to navigate a secretive group that has been trapped in the past for 6 years. Just as the IRS employees settle in, everyone has to work together to battle a psychopath.
The book drags at points and is not helped by the narrator. It feels like he is dragging the story out by speaking slowly and with longer than necessary pauses. One of the characters voices changes so much that it is impossible to tell which character it is without context.
Do yourself a favor and play this book at a faster spped.

Enjoyable read
T-Rexes & Tax Law (Time Travelling Taxman Book 1), my first read from author Rachel Ford. This book is so well-written & enjoyable. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. John Carter Aimone’s talented narration adds greatly to the book's enjoyment. I look forward to the next book in the series, UFOs & Unpaid Taxes (Time Travelling Taxman Book 2). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Exciting and Funny Time Travel
This was a fun listen, with humor and action/excitement. The how and why our "Tax Man" and associate end up in a time travel situation is at first funny, then goes darker with murder, mystery, and an exciting finish. Don't let the silly title fool you, this is an excellent start a series worth reading...

T-Rexes & Tax Law
Don’t push that button... or you just might end up 67 million years in the past!
I thought this was an enjoyable, time travel story. I chuckled at the humor of a tax fraud investigator traveling back in time, especially that far back. As Al and his partner try to come up with a plan for survival, they find out they are not alone...
A unique storyline and great narration. Definitely a fun way to spend a few hours.
