Does not one edit these books?
I like this series of books - I really do. However, it seems that they don't get edited, or the editor is very bad at their job. This author is fond of repeating phrases - her eyes widened, his eyes widened, my eyes widened. It's maddening how often eyes are widening in this book. Surely someone should be noting this silly repetitiveness and making changes - but nooooo. Every book eyes are constantly widening!
In the first chapter, she used the phrase "the side eye." That got repeated many more times in the same chapter.
The stories are cute, if not a bit ridiculous, and for the most part I enjoy listening. The narrator is good and most of the characters are likeable and enjoyable.

Another fantastic listen
I have read every book in this series, and Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie never fail to disappoint. It is so easy for these types of stories to be predictable and formulaic, yet I find Jana DeLeon’s writing anything but. This story especially had enough twists and turns to keep it interesting until the very last second, and enough humor to keep me laughing out loud as usual. Well worth the read/listen!

Swamp Spies
Excellent story and just when it gets serious, something silly happens to make you laugh out loud. Lots of twists. Loved the insight into the military mission and how the rescue went down. Hopefully, there will be a follow-up to this SOOOOOON.

As always these ladies keep me laughing and wanting more. The antics never cease with Fortune and the crew and Gertie never disappoints. I love these books.

Another great book 😀
The Miss Fortune series continues to be as entertaining as the first book was. Jana Deleon continues to create great stories for this group of Sinful residents.
