About this listen

“Sharon Sala is a consummate storyteller.”—Debbie Macomber, #1 New York Times bestselling author

Crossroads, Texas, just might be the place to settle down and find the love of your dreams in this new small town romance series from Sharon Sala, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Blessings, Georgia series.

World-champion bull rider Sonny Bluejacket was bucked off a bull and critically injured. He died twice on the operating table and then survived. Now retired from the rodeo circuit, Sonny is living with his brother and family in Oklahoma when he inherits a horse ranch outside of a little town in West Texas called Crossroads. The first person he meets upon arrival is an intriguing waitress named Magnolia "Maggie" Brennen, who works in a café called The Yellow Rose. Their attraction is instant. But it isn't until much later that Sonny discovers Maggie's secret talent for painting, and a whole new opportunity for Maggie opens up as a result of Sonny's supportive urging.

Their relationship grows as Sonny wades through taking over the inherited ranch, horses, truck and property. He's finally finding his place within the surrounding community, only to be accosted by his no-good father who comes looking for a handout, or to destroy everything, including Maggie. But Sonny isn't about to let that happen.

Absolutely delightful story. I love the characters (Sonny and Magnolia (Maggie).). This story is wonderful….there is love, family, friends and some angst in it. It is a very believable story. Sharon Sala is a very good author and I own every book she has written. Also the narrator of this book is great. He made you sit up and really listen. He brought this story to life. Thank you Sharon Sala for another Best Seller.

The story!!! Sooooo good.

Sunset by Sharon Sala
Crossroads, Texas series #1. Contemporary romance. Diverse.
Sonny Bluejacket has inherited a ranch in Texas. On his way into town, he stops at a small local restaurant and meets Maggie Brennan, a waitress, full of sass and a secret talent for painting. They fall in love, survive a few road bumps and aim for the future.

Absolutely lovely. There was a bit of suspense in the first quarter, then the rest is life, love and created family. Sonny and Maggie in the happily ever after. Tears of happiness for them and their future.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I also purchased multiple formats of this novel to keep.

🎧 I listened to an audiobook version narrated by Tor Thom. A wonderful performance. I did push the speed to 1.5 so I could more closely follow an ebook copy and not be pages ahead.

A feel good, feel happy, low angst, small town, Native American cowboy romance.

I enjoyed the story, the honesty that sometimes our enemies wear our faces. I love the horses especially riding free like I used to. The love story was heartwarming, building each other up instead of holding the other down, or only one being built up.
