Reminded me of a book report

I have to say that based on the narrators voice, monotone reading, and her selections of detail, I thought that this was being read by a child or adolescent: I still don’t know if that is an accurate description or not. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, I had already read the book and seen movie, which made it more noticeable to me, when some part of a scene, that I thought was important to the storyline, was left out.
This listened very much like a middle school book report, complete with a summary at the end. Only the reading didn’t have the flow of a story, and it all sounded very flat. I think this is an action packed and difficult book to summarize in such a short amount of time, even if the narrator were more engaged, However, the lack of organization of the story, by the narrator felt very confusing, and there was no way to differentiate between those dramatic chases, magical explosions, or just everyday interactions. For anyone who hadn’t seen the movie or read the book, I don’t think there was enough detail or excitement, to lure a listener into the magical world of Fantastic Beasts!
