Best Fantasy of all Time

My favorite author. Fantasy adventure, great character depth, and fast paced. Prose brilliant in its simplicity; without adjective and adverb boat that plagues most modern fantasy. Elric is perhaps the first true anti-hero of the genre, calling upon Ariach, dark lord of chaos, in drunken bloodlust as Stormbringer devours hapless souls. But at the same time, exhibits such intellectual depth on the nature of humanity, the multiverse, anarchy and law, with a brevity and seeming carelessness that never slows down the story.

No fluff, elves, dwarves, and fantasy cliche'. No boring exposition to suffer through. Start with Volume 1. I love you Michael Moorcock! #1 Fan. It is a joy to read/listen.

ah to be young again...

stormbringer was one of the first fantasy books I read as a kid,and I was so happy to see it reappear (reincarnate?) in audiobook form. the pathos is still as I remember it,and the story is truly timeless.

now please have "dancers at the end of time" in audiobook ! looking forward to it :)

Like being a kid again

I would read the Elric series fanatically as a teenager. Listening to them 40 years later was practically a walk down memory lane.

Elric gonna Elric

I've enjoyed the audiobooks as much as the novels. This novel is referenced in Appendix N for a reason....

Worth the Wait

For years I've wanted the Elric Saga to progress to another media besides the printed page. Stormbringer, the second audio compilation has not failed to entertain. I await more of Moorcock's Multiverse.

Most epic fantasy adventure ever with an antihero that is tortured beyond all belief with no happy ending

Hey, epic journey through Saucery fantasy in chaos with no equal a vast collection of epic fantasy without Measure absolutely launched me into the genre early in my life

Great dark fantasy!

I listened to the saga Vol 1. and loved it. The narrator is excellent and puts heavy passion into his voice for every emotion Elric experiences and even more so in the scenes of battle. Though the middle section of the novel was sluggish, I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning and later portions of the book. Now, on to Vol. 3!
