La nostra piccola protagonista non si accontenta del mondo in cui vive nel Paese del Dente di Leone. Non riesce a sopportare che proprio le lumache vivano nell’anonimato, chiamandosi l’un l’altra soltanto "lumaca", quando invece tutte le altre cose hanno un nome. Ma soprattutto, lei vuole conoscere il motivo della loro lentezza. Comincia quindi a fare domande a destra e a manca, ma riceve in risposta soltanto sbuffi ed indifferenza, specialmente dalle lumache più anziane. Stanca di essere trattata con tanta ostilità, la piccola lumaca decide di partire per un lungo viaggio in cerca di risposte e di un nome tutto suo. Nel corso della sua avventura, la lumaca incontra tanti altri animali che vivono nel prato. Grazie a questi nuovi amici, la piccola lumaca riuscirà a trovare una sua propria identità e a salvare la sua comunità da una minaccia incombente.
La narrazione ha quel sapore dolce e rassicurante di tutte le storie di Sepúlveda, capace di insegnare un messaggio profondo senza mai essere moralista e di scaldare il cuore di grandi e piccini. La voce di Dante Biagioni restituisce tutta la calorosità dello stile dell’autore e rende l’ascolto di questo audiolibro un momento speciale per tutta la famiglia.
