What did you like best about Stopping Stress Before It Stops You? What did you like least?

I didn't care for the person reading the book at all. But getting over that I did gain some information about preventing stress, taking care of myself and not trying to have it all (which is a harsh reality - something has to give and it shouldn't always be us but it is). I will say it was a bit of spouse bashing in the examples. It's never that black and white at our house, so those were not valuable and almost sounded like doormats versus partnerships. I am glad I bought it though.

Some good nuggets - worth a read

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I love Dr. Lehman and wish I could have heard the speaker first (maybe you can but as this is my first time I could not figure out how).. I just could not get past the spesaker. There is nothing particularly wrong with her voice, it just grated on my nerves. Had I heard her first I would not have purchased the book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Stopping Stress Before It Stops You?

Nothing just could not get past the voice.

Would you be willing to try another one of Lucille Cole’s performances?

No

Do you think Stopping Stress Before It Stops You needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Very helpful if you have more stress than you can handle. As usual, Kevin Leman gives common sense advice in an entertaining way.

This is the last Dr. Leman book I plan on buying -- ever. If there were any pearls of wisdom in this book, they were overshadowed by his assumption that every husband out there is a selfish dolt, which in my case is certainly not true. It's not just this book that I have found offensive, but all his books dealing with the husband/wife relationship. He constantly puts men down, and his attitude makes it impossible to take his work seriously. If your husband is a childish simpleton who only thinks about going to work, how he can get out of housework, lounging while at home, and avoiding your children, then perhaps this book is for you. But if you have that much against you, Lord help you!

He assumes you're married to an idiot!
