Office Enemies to Lovers

Laura’s enemies to lovers trope is always my absolute fav! She did a phenomenal job with Easton & Henley and all the side characters.

Henley just moved to the small town of Rosewood River and starting at her father’s firm. Easton is already a lawyer at the firm and a total grumpish workaholic. The second they first meet, Easton was a total jerk. He feels like Henley should work for her position and not get a handout. He voiced this and that’s when Henley decided to use her actions versus her words. Showing him up in her work and getting the firm to love her, Easton decides to be a tad nicer to her.

Both having issues from previous relationships, they had walls up. I loved how their relationship slowly started to bond together and they had helped each other grow.

These authors are just hitting it out of the park in January! It really is no surprise that I loved this book & I am highly anticipating the rest of this series. I love Laura’s books! Her small town romances are some of my most favorites, her families & characters are just amazing! This one is about Easton, Emerson’s twin brother, if you’ve read her Magnolia Falls series. He is back home in Rosewood River & continuing his reputation as a shark in the law field. But there is so much more to Easton that first met the eye. He had something tragic happen in his life & it has caused him to not let anyone but family close. That is until the boss’s daughter comes to work with him. Easton & Henley don’t get off to a great start. Easton has some prejudices & misconceptions about how Henley got the job, because she comes from a long line of lawyers. But in reality, Henley is smart, hardworking & determined. Easton tries hard to avoid being impressed with Henley, tries to distance himself, but given that she is his mentee, they are closely working together on cases. He quickly finds himself getting protective of her, immensely attracted to her & jealous of any man that talks to her. Once Easton decides he wants her, he’s all in. Except his demons come back to haunt him & he is forced to address his past before he can move on with his future with Henley. This book converted some heavy topics, but I feel it was written very well. I can’t wait for the rest of the series!!

Great story

Oh Wow! This book knocked my socks off! I listened to the Audible version and read the book as well. The narrators are two of my favorites, Connor Crais and Andi Arndt. There's even an appearance by my guy, Beefcake.

Easton Chadwick has worked hard to get where he is. He is a senior partner at a prestigious law firm, working towards making managing partner by next year. He's a hard worker and a shark. He's part of a big fun family.

Henley Holloway is a new attorney. She is a high achiever, scoring perfect on her LSAT. Her parents divorced when she was young with her mom moving to Paris and her dad disappearing into his work. She was basically raised by household staff.

When the two meet, the sparks fly and they find that they have a lot in common. And both have things in their pasts that have deeply affected them. Their stories, coupled with the antics of the supporting characters make this book a super fantastic read.

What a great start to a new series! If you’re a fan of small town, workplace, enemies to lovers romance look no further! This book will suck you in right away and have you not wanting to put it down! I found myself chuckling throughout and catching the feels too! If you love audiobooks you will not be disappointed in this audio one bit! The narrators did such an amazing job bringing this story to life! They made the characters feel so real and will make you feel all the feelings that much more. It was truly like watching a movie in my mind! The author did such an amazing job setting up this series without taking away from the story that was being told. I definitely wasn’t ready for this one to end but super excited to see what’s ahead!! Mark this one as a must read!!
