The real emotions

As an adoptive mom I related to many perspectives held in this story, adoptive parent, child, birth mom , single woman , partner relationships . ❤️

I love these characters

Lovely tale of life and how caring humans make all things bearable and beautiful. Thankful for the happy ending.

Completely unlikable main character

The whining and insecurity is intolerable. I was waiting for it to get better and it just did not. Interesting story, good premise, but the singular focus and total lack of self awareness was beyond irritating. I'm intimately familiar with adoption and this was not a good representation

I love Debbie Johnson but I hate this book

This was not for me.It was a very long, tedious journey by a character who needs counseling. I really almost couldn't finish it. I love Debbie's books because of the characters she develops. The only two even remotely interesting characters in this book did not make up for the self-indulgent angst of the main character. I have already pre-ordered her next book, but if you are expecting a Comfor Food Cafe or Starshine Cove type of experience, this isn't it.
