Overwhelmed by their bravery and humility
Another excellent book by Thomas Doyle. Each person’s story is inspiring. The book reads like a suspense novel. I had to keep going until I finished a chapter in its entirety before stopping! I am so humbled at the bravery of my fellow Christians in the Middle East. I am commiting to praying for them daily.

Inspiring
I loved the author’s book, killing Christians, So I bought this book. Same inspiring stories, but I do not like his way of reading. I wish the reader of killing Christians would have also done this book. For me, this was the only negative.

Amazing
Real life stories that are better than fiction. Should be made into a movie to inspire American Christians. Gives amazing perspective to the dangers of being a Christian in the Middle East.

Outstanding, encouraging, challenging stories of faith!
Unless you’ve read other Tom Doyle books, it’s unlikely you’ve ever read anything like Standing in the fire! While a huge section of society believes that either God does not exist, or that he is passive and uninvolved, those views do not capture the reality of today’s world. God loves people, here, and all around the world. He is about the business of pursuing a relationship with all of us. Read this book and be inspired and convicted.

Great book
This book really opened my eyes to the way of life and the sacrifice people in the East make to follow Jesus. It really convicted me. I think every American Christian should read this book.
