About this listen

What was the light that mazed every mind's sky - and then was gone? Why has it brought a flying tepui mountaintop home from the stars, and sent investigators into the orbital habitats floating above Earth? How is it connected to a "living fossil" fungus of great entheogenic powers? Or to a dead madman? Or to the fate of a planet overpopulated, hypermediated, corporate dominated, and heat-gas insulated? Forces that are socially and politically polarized, both good and evil, selfless and selfish, must search for the answers to these questions - increasingly aware that whoever obtains these answers first will decide the ultimate fate of the Earth - and all humanity!

very dry

What disappointed you about Standing Wave?

The story dragged on and ended without an ending.

Has Standing Wave turned you off from other books in this genre?

No

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Joseph Scott Anthony?

Scott Brick, Joseph's reading was to choppy, to many pauses detracted from an already dry book.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I am not sure, I never was able to get into the story. It was like shifting gears in a manual transmission without a clutch. All the different storylines just kept grinding against each other.

Any additional comments?

I had to force myself to finish this book. Not enjoyable at all. I love sci-fi and would like to try the plot again but maybe with a different narrator.
